Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Feb 23, 2011 11:15 pm just wondering if anyone can give me some advice about some roller blinds. I have several double windows ( ie with two window panes) one set of bifold doors and a sliding door all western red cedar. .I previously had roller blinds on the doors and timber ventians on the windows.as i am redecorating the whole room ( antique white usa on the walls, timber floor boards and off white oriental pure blockout roller blinds, clear stain on windows and doors) i cant decide whether to inset a blind into each window pane ( slight gap between the blind and edge of the window- therefore 2 blinds per window) or whther to put one blind across the top of the window thus fixing it to the western red cedar architrave. anyone done something similar or any ideas on what they would do?? cost difference for two blinds per window is minimal but could be painful to have roller up so many blinds each day! thanks Re: roller blinds - help 2Feb 23, 2011 11:32 pm Hi I would go for one larger blind. Lets in less light (less gaps) and just less fiddly IMO I was offered two blinds for each section of my sliding doors but I have a 2.5 yo and wanted to minimise her 'playing' with them and damaging with the mechanism etc. ~*~Moved in on the 16th April 2011~*~ Re: roller blinds - help 3Feb 24, 2011 8:06 pm Having heaps of roller blinds to roll up and down each day would be painful! I put them in a honeymoon resort cabin I did a few years ago, at their request, not mine! 18 blinds all up in the one lounge and dining area…… I think I’d opt for curtains so all you have to do is pull the to one side or both sides, much easier! Re: roller blinds - help 5Feb 24, 2011 9:31 pm Have to agree with you on the timber, it would be a waste to not to see it. Not sure what to do, I had cedar in my old office I put my window dressing inside the reveal. Re: roller blinds - help 7Feb 25, 2011 5:35 am This was my office at my last house. I made Calico curtains to sit inside the reveals.
