Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Feb 21, 2011 9:02 am As some of you may have read in my other thread I am doing a photo wall after loving the ones I have seen on here. These are the frames I already have which all match as they come in a set. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I am putting them on the angled wall in the hallway Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I went to spotlight yesterday and picked some others I can add to them. They are still black frames but the black around the edge isn't quite as deep and they aren't shadow box frames like the ones I already have. I don't want to add them if they don't look right. So if I do, how many and what sizes should I add to these? Thanks in advance, Michelle Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Photo wall help please?? 2Feb 21, 2011 9:07 am Any pics of the new frames? They dont all need to match, just make sure you mix them up and they'll look fine Re: Photo wall help please?? 3Feb 21, 2011 9:13 am I think the best pic walls are the ones with all the miss matched frames in one colour. Just like yours Erin. You could even come across old frames in a diff colour that you can spray paint easily. Make sure you post some pics! We are doing the same on our staircase wall in our lounge. I have already collected over 45 frames to put up there.(Its a big wall.lol) Sad I know.lol Forrester 43sq We have our keys (3/6/11) Now it's time to decorate (that's the fun part.lol) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37598 Re: Photo wall help please?? 4Feb 21, 2011 9:26 am No pics Erin- I plan on going and buying them today! I agree that Erins wall looks so good but if I only have 2 different sorts of frame it might not end up looking exactly as I am picturing it.... Will have to go and have another look at Erins, have you got many that are the same? ie- out of a set like mine were brought? Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Photo wall help please?? 5Feb 21, 2011 9:30 am I've had this pic saved in my inspiration folder for ages and have no clue where I saved it from but it's a good example how it can look good when different frames and even different colours are used. There were some really nice silver frames at Spotlight yesterday too. Not sure I can add different colour frames though as the wall isn't massive so won't be putting too many on there. Erin- do you have a pic of your wall? I can't find it? If my wall could look exactly as yours does it would be perfect!! I love the woven mats you have too! Picked up 4 frames (2 big and 2 medium) that are the same as the ones I have but they aren't shadow but they are just as deep as the ones I already have. Only prob is that the white matt isn't cream like the ones I already have and are maybe too white?? I brought home an extra one which is still black frame but only half the depth of the others (1cm thick instead of 2cm) but this one looks like the matt isn't quite as white and closer to ivory like the others? Am I over thinking this?? Erin, yours look like they are all the same thickness but you said you have some shadow boxes?? Does that mean you have different thickness ones?? Here are some pics Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ plus this one has the extra one I brought which isn't as deep (down the bottom) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Photo wall help please?? 16Feb 21, 2011 11:32 am Thanks Rudolf! I must have replied in my head and not typed it out I think the frames look great! Keep mixing it up, maybe move some of the smaller frames into the middle too, you can't go wrong I have a mix of really white, with cream in the cardboard matt thingos whatever they're called, and I think they work well. My frames are different depths, will try and find a photo side on to show you what I mean... I'm still looking for one red frame to match our lounge, just for a point of difference Re: Photo wall help please?? 20Feb 21, 2011 12:11 pm Not sure if this helps, it's easier to see the difference in person compared to in photos http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/DSC_0083.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac165/aaron4erin/DSC_0081.jpg Thank you again Simeon..
