Your pic shows timber shutters and tropical foliage, which looks lovely. If this is the look you want, you need to be sure that you follow the same style on the exterior and interior, and also that you can plant similar foliage to keep the 'look'. This is a real Queensland look, but may not translate all that well in Tasmania, for instance. A light colour looks fantastic, but may need more maintenance to keep it fresh. If you have gardens adjacent to the house, there is the probability that soil will splash onto the wall in rain or when hosing. It is a good idea to keep the garden away from the perimeter of the building anyway, to prevent entry of white ants. In fact we thought it was Surfmist it was so light, until we started chatting to the guy there one day and he told us it was Evening Haze. The sun really fades out colours.
