My old living room thread needs new help!!! 369Jun 14, 2012 8:46 pm Ugh I knew it!! The blinds are a killer! There is no way DH will get rid of them, we just got them when we moved in - it cost us heaps!!! I was thinking I will definitely do pelmets sooner rather than later.. do you think they could soften up the overall look a little bit?? Could I do them in a lighter shade than the blind fabric? Or would that not work... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ HEEELP Moved In!!! Next up Landscaping! Our Build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29127 Re: Hey Guys! Yes.....will we keep the black blinds, they will work with the grey scheme you want and the silver or light grey sheers will soften the look Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Hey Guys! My old living room thread needs new help!!! 375Jun 15, 2012 12:55 pm Hey guys, So ive been trying to figure out what to do with the blinds situation. Sheers it turns out are not very expensive! But that makes me nervous that they could look cheap and nasty if not done right.. And then the question of what colour etc. And what windows would I do? Just the big on? Or tha tall narrow ones too? But DH will probably go for it because he was the one going to have to make the pelmets for me!!! I dont like the look of sheers with pelmets I prefer the rod thingos.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But yeah I think this is definitely something I can do sooner rather than later (sooner if I get my way.. ) EDIT* Just realised our roller blind are mounted ontop of window frames not inside... does this mean we wont be able to do the rods!!?? My old living room thread needs new help!!! 377Jun 15, 2012 4:38 pm we had our sheers made, they r pinch pleated and on a track. So they dont look cheap. Ours r a off white color but my friend got a mocha color in her house. There r some nice soft grey colors u can get really pale grey. Re: Hey Guys! My old living room thread needs new help!!! 378Jun 15, 2012 6:01 pm They do look great pinch pleated!!! I wonder how I can get these to work for me... after measuring the roller when its fully rolled and on the window frame, I should just be able to place the rod mechanism thingo directly over the top of it, Im concerned its going to be a really finicky job getting this to all look right, I dont want to put the sheers up above the roller because that would look bad...
