Do you think it would look good? Also, do you think it would be good to go for a dark carpet if my flooring is Blackbutt timber? Walls - Taubmans Altair Kitchen benchtop - Caesarstone Osprey OH Cabinets - Oyster Linea Base Cabinets - Nocturne Oak Thanks Re: Help selecting colors, please 2Jan 27, 2011 4:42 pm I just had a look at your bricks. Smokehaze is a nice colour is this just being used on the front of your house on a rendered feature? Should look very nice if so. I would go with a mid tone carpet, not sure how big your rooms are? My floor plan.. http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae29 ... 4/plan.jpg Thanks Re: Help selecting colors, please 4Jan 27, 2011 5:16 pm I haven’t been out to the carpet shop for a while. There are soooo many to choose from. I think you need to work in with your budget find that cost range then look for the colours you like from there. The grey should look good with the dark roof and windows. Did I look at colours for you before, the façade looks familiar. I have, like others, used Studio M, envisage and used the traditional facade which closely resembles my facade. everytime I go to look at carpets, i get baffled by the options available. I will try again this weekend. Thanks Michelle Cheers Re: Help selecting colors, please 6Feb 23, 2011 9:40 am rajan_g4 Hi Michelle, a bit of help needed selecting my render color My external selection as below: Bricks - Austral Homestead Tan Mortar - Natural rolled joints Roof Tiles - Bristile Classic Shingle Charcoal Aluminium Windows - A & L Black Fascia - Colorbond monument Gutter - Colorbond Monument Garage Door - Colorbond Sectional Timbergrain Caoba Dawn Entrance Door - Corinthian EL00204 with translucent glass I am thinking of going for Taubmans Smokehaze. Walls - Taubmans Altair Kitchen benchtop - Caesarstone Osprey OH Cabinets - Oyster Linea Base Cabinets - Nocturne Oak Thanks Im taking notes as we have built with homestead tan bricks and have cb monument gutteting etc. You have great taste.lol As for our carpet, we have simular colour selections. We have gone a dark charcoal colour. And we love it. The rental we are in now has the same carpet. I bought the sample paint and tried it at home, but its no where close to what was shown in the Taubmans brouchere. anyways, too late now, made the selections already. what stage is your build? where are you building? Cheers Re: Help selecting colors, please 8Feb 23, 2011 10:23 am We are building the bUrBaNk forrester in wyndham vale We are up to painting inside. We actually got feature bricks done but they are all chipped and stuffed (really are seconds!) so we are going to ask them to either replace all of them or render it for us. As our garage door and front door are also monument, we are looking for a render colour around the same tonal value but inbetween the darkness of monument and homestaed tan. as you'll see all 3. Great work. Your house looks amazing. Love it !! Spooky, but seems our kitchen selections look almost the same. ( i saw the pics on page 6). I have got the dark cabinets base and OH and a light benctp (osprey). even the handles are the same, i am not a fan of sharp/square edge handles. I guess the only diff is I have asked for all cabinet handles to be installed vertical and the drwer handles to be horizontal, just my preference. Can I ask what splashback you opted for in the kitchen? Cheers Re: Help selecting colors, please 10Feb 23, 2011 10:47 am Thanks. All my handles are horizontal for a more unisome look. I really wanted a white glass splashback or even a really dark colour charcoal but we busted our budget at colour selection. We ended up with a plain rectangle white tile. In the future we have a 'mate' that can do the splashbacks for us as well as stone benchtops cheap. We are currently designing a house with voids modelled off the Forrester, but everyone is telling me not to do voids as our utility bills will be astronomical. I really love the voids and want them in my house. As someone who has built a house with a void, can you tell me if your bills are huge?? Re: Help selecting colors, please 13Apr 28, 2012 12:00 pm Hi there, well we actually filled in the viods of the forrester for a few reasons 1. to have the viods was actually going to cost more to do 2. that much void area was a waste of space for us as we turned them into a study and bedroom above the kitchen and kids lounge above our lounge. 3. We were also told that it would cost alot to mainly heat. I would of loved to have a small void area somewhere in our house but didnt get to. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits.
