Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 16, 2010 11:04 am I need a colour for our feature wall in our open living area that combines the kitchen, family and dining room. The wall that will be a feature is actually a wrap-around wall. One wall faces the kitchen/family and the other faces the dining. Neutral colour for the other walls is - Dulux Natural White Floor Tiles - Portofino gloss (mocha-grey) from National Tiles Kitchen - Cupboards - Polar White (gloss) Benchtops - Venetian Marble (gloss) Splasbacks - not sure of brand, but they are a 1200 tile, light caramel colour I also have a black and white canvas photo of New York to hang in the dining room. I was thinking of Wattyl Donkey, but that may be too dark. Any suggestions would be really handy! (Have tried to attach photos, but it doesn't seem to be working ) Thanks in advance, Kara Re: Advice on feature wall colour please! 2Nov 16, 2010 1:20 pm Hi Kara, To attach a photo you need to use an image hosting site like www.photobucket.com www.tinypic.com or www.imageshack.us Hope it helps Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Advice on feature wall colour please! 4Nov 16, 2010 1:54 pm Thanks Bel. I'll have a squiz at those sites and try to put some photos up soon. I was thinking more towards a brown...although I think a grey colour would probably match the Venetian marble benchtop more... I haven't got the furniture yet, but will probably go either black or white. Re: Advice on feature wall colour please! 5Nov 16, 2010 3:34 pm I think we had a similar colour scheme in our house and used 50% Reiki on the walls (and ceiling) to our main living area. Looks great. Looks great. Thank you:) Reiki was on my 'list' as well! I'm trying to concentrate on one or two colours that I really love and then get some sample pots. Thanks again! I don't want something too light, I would really like to have a deep contrast against the natural white, but then I don't want to go really dark as it might be too overpowering. What do you think? Has anyone used Wattyl Scallopini? Re: Advice on feature wall colour please! 9Nov 17, 2010 8:31 am Warm Neutral is a lighter colour but still a contrast. Re: Advice on feature wall colour please! 10Nov 17, 2010 8:31 am We used Dulux "Charcoal Light" in our family room, which is open to our kitchen/dining... we have lots of blacks/greys. Re: Advice on feature wall colour please! 11Nov 17, 2010 11:08 am Wow guys, that is stunning! Well done! I absolutely love this colour, although it wouldn't have the same effect in my home because we have browner floors. Thanks for the pic! I really like Calf skin that you showed me before. I might get a sample of that one as well...decisions decisions! Will still try another few colours using sample pots on the weekend and let you know of the outcome!
