Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 13, 2011 9:28 am Michelle, posted this in the Outdoor section and got some good responses. Kek suggested i post in here to see if you can shed any light please. Original thread can be found here for reference: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=42854 Have been trolling around looking for insperation on what to do about installing a merbu screen for my side fence. Stumbled upon Kek's thread and really liked the look of a rendered finish in between two merbu screens. I have attached photos to show a slight dilemma we have. The thing im struggling with visually is whether it will look good. As you can see, since building our pergola we have now centered the Goddess water feature to the pergola and no longer to the decking. Mainly because it was sitting right where the pole went. This leaves us with a longer left side to screen than right. What should we do? My wife wants the screen to go all the way to the end of the garden bed on the left. So, the dimensions we have are 4.1m from edge of water feature to the left, 1.1m for the feature then 1.4m to the brick wall. 6.5m in total. How can we do this without having one large left hand side. We obviously want the Goddess head to be the feature and centered somehow? Help. Do we need the rendered finish or stay with merbu the whole way through? EDIT: We like the idea of having a feature plant on the left hand side as proposed by Kek. We are wanting as a whole a bali theme to tie in with the goddess head. Thanks for any help Michelle and others Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Help with Screening Dimensions 2Jan 13, 2011 6:46 pm I was half way through answering this, but now caught up with work. I like the fact that the water feature and timber screens will be off centre that to me that is a feature on its own! I’d take the screens to the end of the garden like your wife wants to do. No matter what you do, its always going to look off centred…..because it is. By the way, its all going to look really nice. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Help with Screening Dimensions 6Mar 02, 2011 8:40 am The rendered section will actually be on blue board i beleive. This will be set behind the Godess head about 1.2m in width. THe timber section will then be the left and right sections of the screen. Just have to ask, will this be to much with the red of the merbau screen? Once the trees develop I know they will break up the screen a bit, is this your thinking? Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7932 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12516 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7165 |
