Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Dec 17, 2010 3:42 pm Hi all, I am basically having a relatively "white" house whereby: 1) the render is in Dulux Parchment (basically, a warm white where the colour formulation is 1EE, 1LL, 1M per litre of white based paint) 2) the roof, gutters, fascia, window frames and garage door (located at the rear of the house) are all in surfmist ( the colour formulation for surfmist is 3.5EE and 3.25M per litre of paint). Would it matter if a totally different white (namely Dulux Natural White which would match the interior colour scheme) be chosen? Afterall, the front door sits under a portico where a shadow would be cast? We have toyed with the idea of having different colours (Dulux Natural White for the inside and surfmist for the outside) for the front door but seeing that these 2 colours are quite similar, it seemed a bit silly? Re: Consistent colour scheme - Help! 2Dec 19, 2010 9:16 am There's a big difference between whites; some are warm and some cool and they can completely change the look and feel of your rooms, depending on which one you choose. I'm moving this topic to the decorating forum (even though your question isn't really about the interior ), because I think it's more relevant to that theme. And you're more likely to get answers there. Re: Consistent colour scheme - Help! 3Dec 19, 2010 9:27 am Our front doors are Lexicon half on the inside and Surfmist on the outside and our porch ceiling is also Lexicon Half. I personally don't notice that the colours are different even though they are so similar - both sides/faces of the doors suit the area that they are in/that you can see. Hope this helps. I would use one colour…..pick the darkest out of the 2. Just make sure the door is painted in a full gloss paint. Much appreciated. I'm renovating - building a small extension at the back of the late Edwardian house. This is the first stage. Second stage of the renovation will be to replace roof on… 0 1062 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7140 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3230 |
