Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 09, 2010 1:06 pm We just purchased this glass table (still haven't chosen chairs) and I am a bit worried about the colour of the glass on the table. It is a lot greener than I thought it would be and it was also something that I spoke to the furniture shop before we ordered it. I did tell them I was worried and that I didn't want it to be too green. The problem is that our whole house has grey tones and the green is so strong it seems like it is wrong, especially when looking at it against the splashback. I just thought I would get some opinions in here before I tell the furniture shop I don't want it and try to find another one. What do you think? Does it look wrong to you?. Your kitchen has come up lovely! Put a runner on the top of the table, close in colour to your splash back colour if you can find one. The colours all go together. That said, you're the one that has to live with it so if you really don't like it send it back. Re: Opinions on my new kitchen table wanted please...... 5Nov 09, 2010 3:04 pm I really like it! Think it looks great. Where did you get it from if you dont mind me asking? Nice clean lines, modern, like your home. Your kitchen has come up lovely! Put a runner on the top of the table, close in colour to your splash back colour if you can find one. Thanks Michelle!! I feel alot better now that you have said this..... now to find a runner!! barbw61 I reckon it would really stand out if the glass was black. Barb If which glass was black? I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say!? Sorry Barb! xquisite I agree with Michelle; I don't think it looks wrong at all. The colours all go together. That said, you're the one that has to live with it so if you really don't like it send it back. Thanks, I feel so much better that no one else sees the problem.... I think once it has chairs I won't focus on it so much, the only reason I was worried about the green tinge in the first place is because the furniture guy came around and looked at my space and before we decided said he would just watch the colour of the glass isn't too green so that is what I am focusing on! manda1146 I really like it! Think it looks great. Where did you get it from if you dont mind me asking? Thankyou! I am in Country Vic so no point in telling you where I got it from but it is from Insato so you can google it and find a supplier. http://www.insato.com.au/ It is from the Ombi collection. Kaytee It looks good but chairs would make it look even better. I agree- now to find the right chair!!! We are thinking a square white plastic cafe style chair or possibly the chair that is in the pic with the table on the Insato website which is a lot more dressy in white vinyl which I originally didn't want. What do you think? I reckon they would suit your space nicely (but I'm by no means an expert on these things!) Re: Opinions on my new kitchen table wanted please...... 9Nov 09, 2010 4:45 pm Whichever chair you choose, keep them squarish, this way they will go with the table and your 4 bar stools. Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Opinions on my new kitchen table wanted please...... 12Nov 09, 2010 5:25 pm Unfortunately I got the images off Google, but they are a pretty standard style of chair. You should be able to find similar to any of them in most furniture stores. I like it, and like the proposed style of chairs too! Let us know how you go!! Re: Opinions on my new kitchen table wanted please...... 15Nov 17, 2010 7:24 am OK- here are 2 chairs we have been looking at over the past week. The first one is the wrong colour (cream not white) and also probably a bit too rounded and not square enough. This is just an example of what I wanted, something simple but we need to find a different one which is more square looking. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The 2nd one is a chair made by the same company, white vinyl but not what I originally wanted but does suit very nicely. DH loves it and it is very comfortable but I am worried it is "too much" I wanted something simple and to me this looks too extravagent and display home looking. We have 3 young kids so I want our home to be homely looking if that makes sense. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So forgetting that the first is the wrong colour and shape, which style do you all think is best. I want something modern yet simple looking. Cheers Michelle Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Opinions on my new kitchen table wanted please...... 16Nov 17, 2010 8:16 am I prefer the first one. Actually, I also quite like that it's curvy. It softens the space a bit as the whole look is quite 'hard' with glass, stainless steel legs, etc. I think it's pleasing to add something with a bit more organic shape to a room which is all straight lines, KWIM? Edited to say that a good thing about the second chair is that it's an upholstered style, which also has a softening effect. Re: Opinions on my new kitchen table wanted please...... 17Nov 17, 2010 8:37 am Love the second one! Love the modern lines but the cushioning gives it some softness for balance. To me it's a lot more inviting than the other style which is purely functional. Do they come in black at all (for me ) and who makes them? Padded seats are always nice if you are going to be sitting for any length of time - playing cards or games with the kids, or dinner parties etc. Re: Opinions on my new kitchen table wanted please...... 18Nov 17, 2010 9:52 am I love the 2nd one, I don't think its too much, it almost looks sturdier, which is always a good thing with kids! my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Hi, Really struggling to find some consistency amongst Span Tables, can anyone help… 0 2633 I was being kind to the builder.
