Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Dec 16, 2010 4:34 pm Hi everyone, This antique sideboard has been in my family for a few generations now, but I just don't know what to put on it to make it look good. Please not all the crap is going from the bottom of it!! I have an antique mirror which I am going to put on the wall above it, you can just see it in one of the pics, but I just don't know what to do to dress it up. Any help would be wonderful. http://img214.imageshack.us/i/043cv.jpg/ http://img196.imageshack.us/i/042wv.jpg/ Re: How can I decorate this antique sideboard? 2Dec 16, 2010 6:18 pm Where is the sideboard going, what room? I am standing at our front door when I took these new photos, the sideboard is on the right. We have 2 lounge rooms, this is the front one and you walk straight out to the other one. http://img638.imageshack.us/i/047zx.jpg/ http://img258.imageshack.us/i/048hkp.jpg/ Re: How can I decorate this antique sideboard? 4Dec 17, 2010 5:30 am Loniaj…..so you are having 2 sideboards, one on each side of a doorway? Is this room a walk through to the other room, or do you use this lounge room as a lounge room? I’ll be back later today to give you some ideas. We only have the one sideboard. This room will eventually be an extra lounge room I think? At the moment there is a screen on the left and behind it is some gym gear lol. The house is just a really weird layout, Im not at all sure what to do it or where to put things, so any help would be wonderful. Thanks Michelle Re: How can I decorate this antique sideboard? 6Dec 17, 2010 2:33 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ After de cluttering - I see a little wooden box with draws in it, on the right hand side at the back? Bring that forward to the centre of the bottom shelf. Have nothing else down there other than the box. On top, 1) I would group a nice selection of scented candles to one side 2) Find a nice flat glass plate or bowl for the centre, with the balls in it. 3) A small grouping of framed photos 4) On the top shelf….. find a couple of small items that are decorative. But they must be small and attractive.
