I have read your post on flow through colours and wondered if you could give me some specific advice. We are putting down spotted gum throughout the lower level and the kitchen cupboards are polytech sheen laminate (cafe cream and mountain pepper) with ice snow c/s benchtop. We have some large prints with lots of blues and yellowish tones (i.e. Starry Night by Van Gogh) and will also have our daughter's painting as a feature in the open plan kitchen/dining/family area. Pic attached. Can you tell me if we should use china white, hog bristle or antique white USA as our flow through colour? I am also wondering which colour glass splashback to use in the kitchen i.e. blue, green or red. I'm thinking of an electric blue to tie it all together but also like the wine colour (attached). The rest of our furniture is neutral i.e. chocolate lounge and wooden dining table and chairs. Cheers and thanks Dy Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: flow through colours & glass splash 3Dec 02, 2007 12:28 pm Dy….. I like the Hog Bristle; it’s a very neutral colour with depth to it. It will also be a great colour to complement your timber floor.
All the mentioned artwork will work well this colour also. Your daughter is very talented, that’s a beautiful painting! I’m lost as to where and how you would use the Electric Blue? Can you tell me? I have to say I am a fan of the red glass splashbacks! They look stunning. Try Dulux “Murray Red”, my brother put it behind his and it looks fantastic. Michelle, an artist painted this of my daughter. She is only 5 so not quite so talented lol. I was thinking of the blue on the glass splashback in the kitchen but I think you are right - red would look better and I think the wine colour will go fine with the pictures. Murray red looks gorgeous as well. Thank you for your advice ... Hog Bristle it is! My husband is very happy with you! He hated the idea of a blue glass splashback in the kitchen ... and he loves red. Re: flow through colours & glass splash 5Dec 02, 2007 12:49 pm DeeElle Thanks Jo. Glade your hubby is happy, I also put the Murray Red in my brother’s house as a feature wall so the two could complement each other; they are over the moon with the look.
