Hi everyone,
I have been going over and over which neutral I wish to use inside and for the life of me cannot choose. I am sure I'm not the first but would really appreciate some help. The house was built in 1906 and has french polished timber dado panels in the first 3 bedrooms and the sitting area. The living room, kitchen, bathroom and soon to be converted dining room doesn't have dado panels but the neutral colour will need to fit well with all rooms as I would like to use it throughout. I have attached some photos of a few pieces of my furniture. I am aiming for a french chic decore and am fine with choosing my bits and pieces but when it comes to paint colours I struggle. I have a 5 seater cream lounge and ottoman and 2 caramel/beige suede wingback chairs in the living room and the sitting room (the rooms flow into one another) I also have dark wood furniture. The pink carpet (eek) in the living room is being ripped up and replaced and will also cover odd patch of timber floors that you can see beyond that. I will be choosing a neutral beige shade of carpet. As you can see the colour on the walls at present is green which I don't like at all (it was here when we purchased the house). I am wanting something neutral in tone and that is not too grey but more a beige without being too warm so that it can calm the dado panels down a little. I feel a grey tone neutral like white duck will look rather odd with the warmer furniture. I first liked Dulux Grand Piano but have since found it too grey as well. I was wondering whether Ecru or something along those lines will work. The neutral will also be used in my 2nd and 3rd bedrooms. One of which is a mauve colour scheme (ie linens, decore etc) so the neutral colour will need to work with purple. On top of all that I would like to use the colour in the bathroom which is currently painted a pale yellow. As you can see from the photos the colour scheme is burgundy/rose red and the tiles are creamy/beige so I would need a colour that blends with the tiles without being too wishy washy. So many requirements I know! Appreciate any help
Thank you!
