Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 19, 2010 9:01 pm We have purchased a very small Victorian house. The orientation of the rooms varies as does the amount of natural light. My gut instinct is to go white (most of the time) but I don't if its better to adjust the white to the orientation of the room or whether its simply going to look too weird as the house is pretty much 4 key rooms. Bedroom 1- west facing Bedroom 2- west facing/ children's room- looking for a light duck egg blue and a white for the picture rails and fireplace. Bedroom 3- small window- South facing- maybe Vivid White would be the best option to brighten this room, which is a combined home office (daily use)/guest room Lounge/Bedroom 4- small window to the North, large glass doors at the other end to the East. We have decided that the tv will go on the west wall, and I'm confused at to what colour to paint the west wall, dependent on the white decision? So I guess my question is, in a small house, would you consistently paint the same white or would you adjust to allow for the light? TIA Re: Small house- different room orientations & light 2Nov 19, 2010 9:21 pm I'd stick to the one colour palate. So pick your trim colours, along with main wall colour to be used throughout. You can then dress each room to suite with soft furnishings, furniture, and even a feature wall (either paint or wallpaper) - but keep your base colours the same to create a sense of flow throughout the home Hey, I am wanting to add a second toilet to my house, bit we have limited room. There is a hallway/entry that is never used, so was thinking this could be an option. Only… 0 4709 yep you need a joint, foam is easiest, will look fine once rendered with a joint. 2 5233 Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors. The Centre pillar one side sits proud to the other. Can I change 2 doors into one. Please see picture. 0 6336 |
