Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 27, 2010 11:26 pm I am up to the kitchen for my new house. bit hard to select the colours. The flooring is white with very grey tint on it. I am looking at sago half cupboards (with gloss finish) and white jasmine corian bench top and dulux redbox as splash back colour. But when I looked at sago half and white jasmine together, sago half colour sample looked very light to me. hmnnnnnnn. Sago full noway as it looked just dirty brownish pink to me. I wanted to have a dark colour like chocolate????? or somethings that goes with sago half doors, redbox splashback and white jasmin bench top? I am thinking of having the dark colour for the island bench cupboard/s. pls help......... Re: kitchen colours help please 3Oct 28, 2010 8:38 am Thank you very much............. sago half is dulux colour. The sample has grey and some times light brown in it (can't see it as pink but may look dull in some lights). I will try to upload but the page is not accepting jpeg/pic formats. I liked the colour initially but started to think to light......I just selected Red as I thought it can give a bit of bold look. I am happy to go with any neutral tones...The windows colour is APo grey (silverish - lighter than shale grey). The kitchen is L shape with an Island bench in the middle. I had a look at Sago full sample it looks pink but grey on the monitor unfortunately. I like the colour (pink) but too brownish pink some colours make me to feel that its a faded brown (dirty). ohmnnnnnnnnn. Sago half looks colourless some times, very light grey.......... Have not decided the house colours yet. Thinking of going with Anitique white usa for skirting....... kitchen colours help please 7Oct 29, 2010 7:54 am Re: kitchen colours help please 8Oct 29, 2010 7:59 am Ok sahathi would you like us to suggest a cupboard colour in replace of the Sago? I'm a little confused, did you want a colour to replace the sago half? Or would you like a suggestion of a dark colour to compliment the sago half for your island? Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: kitchen colours help please 9Oct 30, 2010 2:45 pm very nice kitchen. Thank you for posting the pics. @bel: I would like to replace sago with a darker colour that goes with red. I had a look at sorrel /stripple seal (laminex) and I like the colours. So, the choice is white on the top cupboards, corian white jasmine and the island bench and the kitchen lower cupboards in laminex colours and with redbox splash back. Would the colours go to gether? - thanks Sahithi Re: kitchen colours help please 10Oct 30, 2010 5:19 pm Sago is a pink-toned beige according to the colour chip I have, so naturally, Sago half is as well. I'd describe it as a very pale mushroom colour. Re: kitchen colours help please 11Oct 30, 2010 5:25 pm Re: kitchen colours help please 12Nov 01, 2010 8:07 am Thank you. I will have fudge at the back of my island bench which is visible to the family lounge and with red splashback. I also like Mocha perl in dulux, but dont know whether my kitchen person can do that colour in polyeurethne. Does it look nice with gloss finish. For the rest of the other cupboards, can I am looking for Beige Royal. Looks like it is giving a contrast to the bench top. Is this too dark and grey? I go the dulux interior schemes book and beige royal and grand piano looking nice with the bench top. But I don't want to have creamy or yellow look. Can you pls advise. I have to make a decission today ( Re: kitchen colours help please 16Nov 02, 2010 1:43 pm I'll put them altogether for you Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Beige Royal Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Grand Piano Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I like both the beige royal and grand piano. DOn't think you can go wrong with these. If I had to pick I think I like the Beige Royal, but my laptop screen isn't the best to view colours on. Do you have swatches of both of these? Go with which one you like better! Trust yourself Oh - couldn't find the mocha pearl one, not sure if you could do that in a ploy cupboard anyway Yes I love gloss (but then that's what I'm having ) Cheers Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: kitchen colours help please 17Nov 02, 2010 2:09 pm Thank you very much bel. You'r a great help to me. I just been to a paint shop and picked Sandy day samples, red stop too. Am almost there.....(think so). Grand piano looked creamy to me in halogen lamps...so its out. Now to the last......Beige royal (half or quarter can you advise please) or Sandy day half or quarter .......which one would look better.......... Re: kitchen colours help please 18Nov 02, 2010 2:12 pm Sandy day half is much better than quarter. The quarter ends up coming out very very light I was being kind to the builder. With the amount charged for the upgrade the builder is probably charging closer to 100% margin. There are a few variables as I… 5 13046 You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 8298 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 3622 |
