Hi
Having trouble deciding on internal wall colour for newly purchased house. Wanting to paint next week before we move in.
We are looking for a neutral colour to paint and the walls and then add a few feature walls. Would like main wall colour not to throw a yellow or pink, more of a stone or brown but still reflect enough light.
In our current house we have Dulux seed pearl however were wondering if it looks a bit yellow. We like brown toned feature walls eg Dulux Toffee Fingers / Arava and would like a base colour which blends with this. Our house has blackbutt floors and a navy carpet. The windows and doors are a medium coloured blue/grey.
So far I have tested Hogs Bristle 1/2 strength - I thought it was too yellow.
Dulux Buff it / Dulux beige royal - was worried it did not reflect enough light and would make house appear dark. Maybe should try 1/2 strength??
Taubmans Portland Stone - not enough light, looked dull
Taubmans Pebble Bay - seemed to throw a greenish tinge
Also I was told that people are painting the ceilings, walls and trims in the same colour then lifting with a feature wall - is this correct?
Please help as it is costing a fortune in sample pots and I am not making any progress and running out of time.
Many thanks
