Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 15, 2010 8:28 am I am interested in hearing any suggestions for the following living dining and kitchen area floorplan, obviously the primary difficulty is that its very small! http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab24 ... plan-1.jpg I was thinking possibly a kitchen island bench in front of the galley kitchen to provide more bench space and possibly having high chairs tucked under the island to make it a dining option also. Then would the lounge go on the right hand side of the entry? I am interested in hearing suggestions of how other people would organise this space and what sort of decorating ideas and furniture placement would be chaosen. If you need more bench space your idea of an island bench that you can eat at is a good one. Of course, that means no dining table. Alternatively, I would move the dining table to the left in front of the kitchen and have a small L-shaped modular lounge against the bacl of the built in wall & down the right hand side. Just make sure the furniture is low line & not too bulky. I prefer that side for the lounge as otherwise you're blocking the window & light. Hopefully there is a nice view out the window which can be seen from the lounge. If this is a TV viewing area I would put the TV in the lower left hand corner. If it were my place (and this is what I've done in mine) I'd forgo an "entertainment unit" piece of furniture & mount the TV onto the wall. Depending on viewing angle you could either mount it on the left wall or (probably better) mount it on the bottom wall on an adjustable arm that swivels out at an angle. Then you can fold it neatly against the wall when not in use. Can anyone suggest a house layout where the kitchen-dining - living runs the length across the rear of the house left to right where our best view will be we… 0 4343 3 5579 CDC Housing Code 3 When to apply Floor Area external face of wall vs Gross Floor Area internal face of wall.
