Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 14, 2010 8:54 am Hi All, I'm hoping to get some opinions before I go out and buy furniture. I've seen both display homes of the como 25, and I can't decide which I think uses the living space best. I haven't quite decided on either the lounge style or colours. I'll insert url's with the photo's of the display homes, only because the photo's become too large to display The saltwater coast display house: http://como25.files.wordpress.com/2010/ ... iving2.jpg http://como25.files.wordpress.com/2010/ ... living.jpg http://como25.files.wordpress.com/2010/ ... lounge.jpg The Somerfield Estate Display House: http://como25.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/snc00335.jpg http://como25.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/snc00336.jpg http://como25.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/snc00337.jpg My house colours: http://como25.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/snc00726.jpg http://como25.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/snc00751.jpg Kitchen cabinets are in mocha ash, splashback and paint in beige royal quarter, and benchtops will be in ice snow caesarstone. We're also having tiled floors, in mondo beige, so would probably try to stay away from leather in this area. I was originally hoping to buy a glass dining table, with timber legs/underside in a colour similar to the kitchen cabinets. However i might be able to get away (in the short-term, due to $$'s) with just a plain chocolate timber dining table, and perhaps chairs closely matching the sofa. Has anyone got any opinions, on whether a 2 or 3 seater would be better, or a 2 or 3 seater with chaise longue??? And what colour(s) would suit the area? Thank you for your help!!!! Re: Suitable furniture for my living area? 2Oct 15, 2010 3:09 pm Honestly, i think it comes down to practicality. Most people seem to like lazing on a modular chaise from what I can determine. How are you likely to use the space? I would be going & trying out lounges (if you haven't already). From a style POV I really like those chairs in the 2nd house & think that layout is more stylish. That said, it may not be as practical for you. Both versions are a good use of the space IMO. With regards to 2 or 3 seater, that doesn't matter to me so much as overall size of the suite. I can't be sure but i wouldn 't be surprised if the width of the sofas in the displays was pretty close to the width of the dining setting. Whether it's called a 3 seater or whatever isn't very helpful. Some '3 seaters' are under 2m long and our last '3 seater' was nearly 3 mtres long! Just make sure it's not too big for the room (and you'll have to measure this as furniture showrooms are deceptive). Your colours are great & will go with anything. Do you prefer the feel of blue/green or red/orange? Either cool or warm combos will work well with your kitchen etc. I think it may be easier if you find some sofas or fabrics that you like first. Re: Suitable furniture for my living area? 3Oct 22, 2010 8:16 pm Hi xquisite, Thanks for your help! Went furniture shopping (well looking, really) with my partner last weekend. Hard to find something that screams out "I'm perfect for you- I'm just what you're after!" (If you know what I mean ). We originally chose the colour scheme from a display house, where they had used lime green accessories, and realised that by simply changing the accessories, we could have a completely different feel for the place. That said, I'm now the proud owner of a red kettle and toaster (Much to my partners disgust!!!) I think we'll try to keep the colours in the beige/white/chocolate theme, and update and inject colour with accessories. Here's hoping that we find some furniture that we like, before the house is handed-over Re: Suitable furniture for my living area? 4Oct 24, 2010 4:32 pm It's worth waiting for exactly the right thing, Shelley! I haven't been in there but have been impressed with the look of some of Freedom's new sofas - very stylish. I think your neutral colour scheme with red accents will look lovely. Not recommended!
