Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 11, 2010 11:02 am Michelle, what's a colour that fits in with paperbark (Garage) and stone beige-windows (dulux powder coat) I paid one consultant $150, she suggested Gnu Tan. On the north wall l it looks like baby poo/peanut butter. Other suggestions were greys, Shaded lane, Champignon and Mud pack. All YUK. Our walls are massive and it would look like a mausoleum. I have tried paperbark 3/4, it's too light Russian Toffee -too light any other colours you can think of Michelle, Re: Render to fit in with paperbark and stone beige 2Oct 16, 2010 1:54 pm Paperbark and stone beige are both very light, and teaming them with another light colour can give a bit of a bland effect. Unless that's what you're going for. Even when you choose what seems to be a dark shade, it will look much lighter outdoors. Gnu Tan was my choice for our interior walls - outside, it would have been way too light. Will there be any exposed brick or any other features, or is it a full rendered facade? Spouting and fascia colours? Roof? Can you have more than one render colour? If so, you might be able to pick a feature section to do in a separate colour to the rest. I'd probably go for a darker colour for the render, and if possible, go even darker for a feature area. Do you have a photo or elevation drawing you can post? Re: Render to fit in with paperbark and stone beige 3Oct 16, 2010 2:16 pm We have used paperbark as well with chestnut bricks and monument roof tiles- and outside on our porch we've used Gnu Tan and wished we hadn't. It is very bland and will be the very first thing I redo. We used ceyonese as a feature render above the brick work and it's very dark and I like it much much better. As Kek mentioned a pic of some sort will help. My house and my rants.... - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=26937 We are in!!!...and still unpacking. Thankfully there are always Tim Tams Re: Render to fit in with paperbark and stone beige 4Oct 16, 2010 2:28 pm I agree with going for something dark. Why not get some sample pits paint large pieces of card & stand in sun. You'll see how light they will look Re: Render to fit in with paperbark and stone beige 5Oct 18, 2010 9:16 am This double storey will be fully rendered and the casement windows will all have mouldings around them. There is no exposed brick. We are not looking for a contemporory finish but a traditional look. We will have double wrought iron/timber doors, wrought iron spears for the fence. http://www.realestate.com.au/property-h ... -104748969, similar to this design but imagine with a paper bark garage and stone beige windows. Should I try paperbark double strength perhaps and 3/4 for the mouldings? The front of the house faces south. Please help I am running out of time all the samples I have tried look crap . Re: Render to fit in with paperbark and stone beige 6Oct 31, 2010 6:07 pm I have GNU TAN and it looks great. I know you dont like that colour but it is the same as the paperbark only a slightly darker shade. It will blend perfectly. Are you in Sydney? there is a display home near me which is also GNU TAN Building in Bella Vista Waters Sydney. The Galaxy with Macquarie facade by Young Homes Re: Render to fit in with paperbark and stone beige 7Nov 01, 2010 7:44 am The colour render gets started this week. I tried double strength paperbark and I like it better than gnu tan, it's less warm. I'll do that, then go 3/4 for the mouldings and front fence. Cheers, thanks for the input.
