Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 08, 2010 7:01 pm Hi all, Have been going round and round in circles with the exterior with lots of brick stress. I think we've finally decided on Boral Limestone Hue (a kind of 'dirty' ivory/cream, sounds bad but looks lovely ). I am wishy washy at the best of times but add to that pregnancy brain and you have a bad combo . I am just looking for a basic idea of what would go with these bricks. We are to choose a colourbond roof, A & L windows (similar to colourbond colours) and wattyl paint to the timber cladding on 1st floor - paint can be tinted in any brand's colour though. Our home is around 1km from the beach so we are going for a coastal look. I have seen a house done in this brick and they have gone dark windows with a light roof but the house is very different to ours with a flat roof and heaps of render (which we don't have) and little brick. Any ideas would be much appreciated as we have our colour appointment with NBG soon. I love windspray, dune and surfmist but not sure if there would be too much contrast with a darker grey and not enough contrast with the lighter colours. Please help. 2Oct 08, 2010 8:32 pm I think most colours would blend nicely with that brick. Woodland grey roof would be a nice contrast although maybe not the coastal look you want. Jasper is another option. The colour of the roof in that pic is a bit dull making the whole house look bland. It needs some colour and contrast for impact. Re: Don't want our exterior to be an epic fail! Please help. 3Oct 08, 2010 10:27 pm Have you thought about interior colours yet (existing furniture, new furniture, soft furnishing colours, paint)? Are you going for beachy blues, natural wood, whites? You can go lots of ways with those bricks, so you need a starting point. Judie I would be wary. Is you site demilished but nothing else done? Sounds like liquidity problems to me. Our builder did the same. Got hundreds of thousands of dollars of… 2 15392 Sounds like rubbish to me. Ask for the contamination report which I doubt they have. If it's part of a normal subdivision it would have had a contamination report done… 9 5645 |
