Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 21, 2010 10:14 am I just found out that the builders painter uses Bristol paints. Do their tints exactly match Dulux or am I my just waisting my time. I chose Natural White for the walls and 1/2 strength for ceilings. And check this out, the unhelpful sales assistant said I could only buy a 1L can for a sample. That's $28. WT*! Re: Bristol tints? 2Sep 21, 2010 11:18 pm The painters for my build used taubmans/bristol paints. Ask your builder whether the painter has a set colour range,. We had 128 colours to choose from Plus white. I know that Bristol has a service called "Bristol's True Colour Matching System " check out their website http://www.bristol.com.au/s02_about/index.html But check with your builder as this may not be covered in your building contract. Re: Bristol tints? 4Sep 22, 2010 8:04 pm it will match for the full strength colour Half strength colours can be problematic Bristol will use a different formulation from the original Dulux one as Bristol But it is such a pale colour going half strength should not be a concern TBH as for the buying a sample for 28 dollars it is because the Bristol machine can only do full drops not half drops etc in such a small size I went outside once. The graphics were alright, but the gameplay sucked! Settlement:22nd June Slab:27th August Frame:16th Sept Bricked:21st Oct Roof:24th Nov Linings HANDOVER23rd March! Re: Bristol tints? 5Sep 22, 2010 8:17 pm Mckinnon, I work for PPG which is the maker and seller of Taubmans/Bristol and White Knight paints, we do colour matching but my advice to you is to double check the colour once it is on the wall in a small spot before proceeding to paint the entire wall/house as our tins clearly state we will not take blame for mistints/mis colours so you need to make sure you check the colour, every batch of paint is different so make sure you check it every time you get a new tin.
