Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 05, 2010 6:36 pm G'day everyone, First post here:) I recently bought my first home with my partner and slowly renovating and decorating. In the open plan areas (the heart of the house) the dining, lounge, hallway and kitchen, has multicoloured slate type tiles (see pics) they are grey-blue-brown-white-olivey. I am pretty handy at decorating but this has me stumped! I need to know what colour walls, curtains, themes and type of decor that would suit. It is quite a dark house as we have a verandah and patio right around and the ceilings are a little low (but not claustophobic). The outside of the house has a homestead-rustic australian theme, but im lost inside. I want to carry the theme inside (timber and black and white photos etc) but not sure how. any ideas on colours etc will be fantastic, thank in advance http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae268/dark_horse3/Tiles/DSC_0001.jpg http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae268/dark_horse3/Tiles/DSC_0004-1.jpg http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae268/dark_horse3/Tiles/DSC_0003.jpg ~*~ tHoMmO ~*~ Re: multi-coloured tiles = help please! 2Sep 05, 2010 6:51 pm Hi Darkhorse. I'm definitely not a colour whiz but I lived in a house that had very similar flooring to that and the owners had olive green dining chairs and cream curtains with a bit of a green pattern through it and it looked alright. Not sure if that's the look you're after though. It's not an especially modern look, rather they worked with what they had to make the room look as co-ordinated as possible. i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits. There's only one… 7 13514 All 3 items listed are defects and are of concern.
