Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 25, 2010 8:13 pm I'm thinking of doing this wall as a feature wall in our master bedroom in Jasper (I haven't quite won the battle yet against my DH to have that wall wallpapered. I'm still working on it though ) so if I don't wallpaper it, I'm thinking of Jasper as the paint colour:
Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We just had our front door painted Jasper and I love it - it seems to work really well with the hogs bristle but I'm wondering if it would be too dark to use as a feature wall inside? Too dramatic maybe with the other colours... If there's left enough paint leftover from the doors, I'm thinking of just using that Re: Do you think Jasper is too dark for a feature wall insid 2Aug 25, 2010 9:20 pm I think it'd be great. But have you SEEN my colours....? Re: Do you think Jasper is too dark for a feature wall insid 3Aug 25, 2010 10:30 pm Dark colours can work very well, we have a black feature wall in a formal lounge room and I think it looks great. Plus, you can always paint over it if your not happy Re: Do you think Jasper is too dark for a feature wall insid 4Aug 25, 2010 10:33 pm A few people have used Cafe Noir which is a brownish colour about 10 shades darker than Jasper and it looks great. I don't think Jasper is too dark at all. If you go ahead, are you sure you want to use the left over from the front door? It will be high gloss, not sure how that will look on a wall. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Do you think Jasper is too dark for a feature wall insid 5Aug 26, 2010 10:58 am Thanks ladies. Kek, I have seen snippets of your home on here and the bold colours you have used look great!! Lunchtime - a black feature wall sounds stunning - wow, that would like very striking!! joles If you go ahead, are you sure you want to use the left over from the front door? I actually thought they just buy the normal paint and then mix it on-site through gloss base paint. I agree, I don't think a gloss wall paint would look very appealing at all !! Re: Do you think Jasper is too dark for a feature wall insid 6Aug 26, 2010 1:17 pm I agree and don't think Jasper would be too dark at all but personally I think that wall is just screaming out for some divine wall paper!! Thanks!! Hmmm, I guess that is the purpose of feature walls - to make an impact. I like neautral colours but I'm determined to add some colour to our home through accessories and maybe do one or two feature walls throughout. My husband is hard to convince about anything that's not bland or boring but I usually just go ahead and do it anyway and then he realises how I was right all along. Have you checked out some of the UK online wallpaper sites? Waaaay cheaper than buying it here, and postage is cheap too. No. It's not original.
