Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 16, 2010 12:00 pm Hey guys a couple of questions our house is being repainted in Antique White USA, with a touch darker tint on windows frame we have blackbutt flooring going in .. we are looking at leather lounge suites, and are after some advice re colour. We want to keep a bright sunny look, as it is a beachhouse with a lot of windows and great sea views We love this choc / brown /blackish lounge, but are tinking it may be too dark, and maybe a cream or white lounge is the way to go ...? And is it normal for a leather lounge to take a min 12 -14 weeks to deliver ? Just seems like a LONG time to wait . Thanks ! p.s. just spoke to painter who said ' it will be pretty white in there, maybe black will break it up ..' I think white would look nice in your beach house with accents of azure, throw/cushions/pictures etc. you could still do this with brown couches though. Re: lounge suite advice - pics included 6Aug 16, 2010 1:36 pm Is that first lounge the same as the second? The first looks more charcoal to me. I like the first colour, think it would look great with the white walls and that gorgeous floor....and I like the rug with it Re: lounge suite advice - pics included 8Aug 16, 2010 2:43 pm IMO i would go the white/lighter coloured couches. I think you will have plenty of depth with your blackbutt floorboards so it won't look washed out. Plus the light furniture will keep with the "beachy" feel. I love light furniture though so this is just my opinion. I had blackbutt flooring in my old house with light couches and every other colour neautral and thought it looked fine. Re: lounge suite advice - pics included 9Aug 16, 2010 7:47 pm Yes it is normal for a leather lounge to take up to 12 or 14 weeks for delivery. Love the ceiling in this room! Personally I like the red you have. But in all honesty if you want a new lounge I would go white, remember you are having Black Butt floor boards…very nice. With a white lounge you get to add lots of other colours!!!
