Hi everyone
I usually hang out in the building forum, but I thought I'd post this question in interior decorating, because you are all much more in the "how will this look?" zone and I need help!!!!
We are building our new house at the moment. It has open plan L shaped living area: kitchen in the corner of the L, then lounge with double doors to outside, and dining with stacking bifold. The front door is pretty much next to the dining room. It's two stories, bathroom upstairs and downstairs. Look is modern and a bit organic without being hippy.
We have polished chrome taps - same in both bathrooms, and I have found the door handles I like, also in polished chrome. The best privacy snib for the bathroom doors is available only in polished chrome.
Yesterday I discovered that the door furniture on our stacking bifold on our dining room is satin chrome (including a rather long but not awful bolt), and that the window furniture is anodised aluminium, which looks kind of like a darkish satin chrome.
Plus we are looking at track lights etc that will almost certainly have visible metal. Saw some yesterday that I liked ... they were a bright stainless steel or polished chrome (I think).
Aggggh!!!! How much does it matter whether everything matches? I'm not changing my taps - my builder would kill me.
Thanks in advance for any tips.
