Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 12, 2010 2:22 pm I live in Melbourne and am looking for pendant lights that give off a warm, yellowish glow (no glass). I'm keen to get something a little different from what's available at the major lighting retailers, can anyone recommend good lighting specialists in Melbourne area? Re: Pendant Lights - where to buy 2Aug 12, 2010 9:46 pm We're also shopping for lights in Melbourne. I found quite a lot of stuff I quite liked at the Home of Lights in Fairfield - going back there on the weekend for a proper look. Shop 1, 704 Heidelberg Rd, Fairfield. Tel (03) 9499 5116. Two caveats: pretty poor customer service and also, they don't write the fitting on the labels, so if you're fussy about what globes you're using (as I am) then it's a PITA. Have no idea what their prices are like - I'm finding it practically impossible to compare apples with apples. There's also a place in Eltham that is supposed to be good. Unfortunately, I don't know whether it is, because when I arrived at 6pm last Friday (having driven there from Ringwood "on the way home" to Northcote) I found that they close at 5:30, not 7:30 as it says on their website. Here's the site - I suggest you ring to find their actual hours!!! http://www.creativelighting.websyte.com.au/ These two were recommended in another thread - from memory, the woman who mentioned them hadn't had much luck elsewhere. I'll try to dig up the thread to see if there's anything else there of value. There are of course also the online shops, but personally, I want to see what I'm buying first. JIC it works for you, there's a great thread in the lighting forum with lists of online lighting stores. Good luck e. Re: Pendant Lights - where to buy 3Aug 13, 2010 1:38 pm Thanks for this helpful info Elizabeth, much appreciated. I'm like you, I like to touch what I'm buying first, so online is not for me. I am also picky about bulbs, I like yellow light not this ghastly white light that the new bulbs give out. I'll get in touch with the places you've mentioned. Cheers So I'm just reading up on this ecosystem of lights. I'm planning on putting deck lights along the outside edge of a large deck. Will need about 3 packs (18 lights) plus… 0 23022 Looking at some of the designs on websites, they are all selling very similar products. I get that you want something stylish. It's worth looking for search terms like SaveH2O… 2 7007 |
