My bathroom wall tiles which were a lovely creamy colour at the tile shop have morphed into a yellowy green colour on the wall. I am wondering whether it is the ceiling white which is creating too much of a contrast - if I were to paint the ceiling a yellowy toned white do you think that will do the trick ? Or is there some obscure rule of colour that says to paint it a different tone altogether ? Would appreciate any help Re: Bathroom tiles went yellow - eek ?!?! 2Aug 04, 2010 12:02 pm Is it reflections coming off the glass? I find that a lot of light colours look drastically different due to reflected light. Sometimes this looks good, others it changes the look totally. As for painting the ceiling a different colour, you can do this and no, no obscure colour rule. White ceilings reflect the most light, which is why they are standard - along with white paint being cheaper I think! Perhaps get a few sample pots, paint a reasonable size board and stick it up there for a little to check what happens. Thanks for the tip about the (lack of weird) colour rules - I was reading about colour wheels and all sorts of things and got myself thoroughly confused !!!
