Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 01, 2010 7:19 pm Hi All Now I have worked out how to post a photo (thanks Donuts) I would like to hear some suggestions on how arrange furniture in a room that has five big windows at one end and a big door opening at the other. We are getting ready to settle on this property (tree change moving from the coast). Ignore furniture in picture this was previous owners. The verticals will be first to go (don't like them and blue is my least favorite colour, ironic as all the outside trim is blue, water tanks, kitchen bench BLUE, and grey tiles in bathrooms yuk) but we luuuvre the land and can't wait to get out there. Shed that can be seen will be moved as well. We will paint as soon as were in and will be buying new stuff as we are going from suburbia to 25 acres but house (rooms) are a lot smaller and will not fit our current furniture. This is the only living room so will have to house TV, Lounge etc. Sorry to ramble, love this site. It's addictive. This was the only photo from back of room (not a good picture) previous owners had Tv on right hand wall that is about 4 metres long with a return to doorway of about 1.8m, left hand wall is only approx 2 metres with about 1mtre return (and DH wants to put his fancy combustion fire in that corner. I would prefer lounge on right hand longer wall. Sorry Donuts I do not have a floor plan. Re: Furnishing a room full of windows- help 8Aug 02, 2010 9:37 pm Hi Michelle & Donuts Thanks for your time. I found a floorplan that is nearly identical. Have marked the two small return walls that lead out to the kitchen and where the tv was. I was thinking maybe the tv on opposite wall to were they had it, and the lounge where tv was. (hope i'm not confusing you). The room is about 11 metres from entrance of lounge to the front window so should i have TV & lounge one end and some sort of casual seating at the window end to look down the length of the property (looks like previous owners were trying to achieve something like that)and sit and watch my mini cattle and sheep I hope to have one day. When I get this figured out then I will start with what paint to use with all that "pine flooring and architrave. So different to my decorating style.
