Re: Living room decoration 2Jul 28, 2010 11:37 am Hi Jennie83, Welcome to the forum. To upload pictures, you will need to upload them to a website like flicker or imageshack... then you just copy and paste the codes straight on here... As for decorating, this is what I would do if it was my lounge room. The blue bits would be the side and coffee tables. I personally would try to fit in a L shape sofa as that way you can fit more guests when they come over and also two people can lie down on it comfortably. When you have kids you can move the buffet to the other side behind your dining table and turn that area into a study nook area. Much better to have all your kids stuff in a room compared to all over your house! I hope that helps you a little bit Re: Living room decoration 3Jul 28, 2010 12:52 pm Is anyone going to be sleeping in bedroom 4? That could be a problem for the TV unit to be on that wall. Also do you have kids? How many people need to be seated? Etc, etc Do you have a computer or anything to fit in this area? It's hard to suggest layout without knowing your furniture and the sizes but here goes. I'm going to suggest something a bit left of centre. Rather than having your dining table in the meals area, you could have it opposite the kitchen bench. The top end of the large living room wall could house your entertainment unit with the furniture placed around it (back of lounge to the table and back of lounge to the former meals area). You could then use the current meals area as a computer/desk nook with the desk on the side wall. Some advantages are that you won't have to navigate the dining table to get outside, it would be clear from the kitchen and the area in front of the desk could be a play area that could be easily cleared when need be. The big disadvantage is that as you walk into the living space you'd see the back of the couch. Thise could be negated with a narrow hall table there with some flowers, nick nacks etc. You could also put a buffet there as it would service the dining area. Just a slightly different idea, but again hard to visualise without knowing your furniture or your needs. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I’m going to agree with Jo here, I would swap the rooms around. Dining room where the glass doors are and lounge where the dining is currently. Sideboard then goes where the TV unit is now. Yeah, I was thinking timber front door. 10 21596 sorry mate, not wasting more time on this.
