Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jul 20, 2010 11:14 pm Hi All, Currently trying to work out our elevation colors, having a hard time. We found out from our builder today that its only ~$250 to upgrade from normal colourbond panel lift front door, to a timbergrain colour (Caboa or Cedar I think from memory). The thing is, when we play around with the envisage home design page (the link at the top of this forum..) I cant find any way to make the elevation look good without making the front door stained the same as the rollerdoor. Im happy to do this, but i was planning on having evaporative a/c, which of course will mean I will want some form of security door (also for peace of mind, just in case I open the door and the boogeyman is outside) so I can open the house up and let the place cool better. So, my question is - can I get a security door to cover a timber-stained door, and if I did, would it degrade from the overall timber look ? Will the timber garage door still have impact if the front door doesnt match ? appreciate any opinions / ideas out there. ta Why are priates scary ? Because they yaargh.. Cheers Have not really had a chance to use them for breeze they have only been on during Melbournes winter, the steel mesh is the same as most security doors with the little holes only stronger. Re: Security / flyscreen with timber front door ? 10Jul 29, 2010 11:20 am OMG - no discernable difference in air flow. You do see a little less through them since the mesh is a bit thicker. It looks clear from inside pic but the otside pic it appears darker and harder to see in - this would be great because I love clear doors just don't want people to see right in from the street Also cost of the security doors if you don't mind - or happy for PM I'm so glad you posted pics they help heaps!!!
