Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jul 05, 2010 8:38 pm Hi Michelle, I need lots of help with my colour choices.. Iv always liked the darker shades of brown. Im not really a white wall person. The colours that I have chosen so far are: (1) WALLS: Dulux Puddle CEILING: Dulux Antique White USA (2) WALLS: Dulux Raw Cotton CEILING: Dulux Natural White These are the two combos that I have chosen. I think I prefer the Puddle, its more what I like. But everyone says not to go to dark as it closes the rooms in and make it look small. What are your thoughts? With my exterior colours, I think im going to go with Boral Brown Terrain brick. Im not sure what to have gutter/fascia/Windows and garage door. I had paperbark in mind for the windows and render, but not to keen. Maybe something lighter for the render to stand out, or darker? Garage door I would like it darker, like a Jasper but I think its might be too dark and not really go with everything else. If you have any good colour combos for me, for the brown terrain that would be great!! Or any help with choosing interior/exterior colours... Geees..... Now I have to choose the kitchen too... lol Thanks Very much Re: I Need help! Interior and Exterior Colours 3Jul 06, 2010 5:47 pm Hi Bronte, Welcome to the forum! Are you building a new home, or painting an existing one? But as everyone says on here - if you love the colour, go for it! As for the externals - there are a heap of people on here that have used the brown terrain bricks. Here is the search that shows all the threads - maybe have a look through and see what others have used search.php?keywords=%2Bbrown+%2Bterrain&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looks good! Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: I Need help! Interior and Exterior Colours 4Jul 06, 2010 7:16 pm The wall colours look a bit 'safe' to me. So I agree with bel in regards to having a bit of colour on the walls but it's all personal choice. Most important is to pick colours that compliment each other and have a contrast so it doesn't look too flat. Re: I Need help! Interior and Exterior Colours 6Jul 09, 2010 4:48 pm Hi all, Sorry I havent raplied to your messages. Been a busy week.. Thank you all for ur suggestions. Im still worried about what to choose. I like the darker colours but dont know whether to do them or not, and I hope I wont be disappointed with the colour I choose. We have now chosen another colour to throw into the mix. Ceiling: Natural White. Walls: Tavern Our tiles are like a Torp colour, I think the colours work well. But dont really know what colour benchtop/cudboards to go with it? Any ideas? Bel, I am building a new home by M. Its an Allegra range, so there are not many choices to choose from, EVERYTHING is an UPGRADE!! And I dont know how well ill go in my selections with what to upgrade and what not to. Again, Anyone with ideas for that would be a great help!!!! PLZZZZZ....... Cheers everyone Re: I Need help! I don't know what the "rules" etc are with M, but with my builder, you had to select a wall colour from a set range, not the whole colour palette. Also, the guys building with M will give you an idea about upgrade costs etc. In terms of what to upgrade - depends on your budget. You can still build a great home with standard inclusions - don't think it won't be wonderful just because you haven't upgraded within an inch of it's life! What the majority of people will tell you - spend your money on structural upgrades that can't be done afterwards (if that's what you are after), then if you have left over money, upgrade the internal/colour selections. Hope it helps Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: I Need help! Interior and Exterior Colours 8Jul 12, 2010 6:53 pm How you here Bronte?
