Has anyone ordered fabric from o/seas? Were you charged duties, taxes, etc........
I've just ordered some hats from the US & wasn't charged anything but wondering if I'll be hit various Oz taxes/duties if ordering loads of fabric for my curtains.

While I've never bought fabric I have bought lots of items from U.S.A. Fishing gear, clothing, boots ..... and never been charged any tax just the usual currency exchange fee.
exchange fee is what your bank/credit card provider charge, not the government.
Other things to consider: You should have the fabric delivered on the roll, which will not be cheap on postage. Associated costs from the risk the fabric supplied is faulty. There is also a big difference seeing fabric on line and then in reality.
How likely do you think this possibility is 4walls, ordering from an American online fabric store?
could not possibly answer that - can vary from company to company, and some types of fabric can be more prone to faults than others. Some faults require a keen eye to spot them. Some faults are not faults at all, but characteristics of the fabric
Southies - can you let me know where you got from? (or PM me?) I am on the hunt for some unique fabrics that I can buy online Much appreciated, thanks!
I've ordered fabrics online for craft projects; small quantity and thus relatively low risk. While that has worked out well, I think if I was ordering a large enough quantity for it to be on the roll, I'd see if I could find a local fabric store that would import for me. It may cost a bit more but I think that if anything goes wrong, it is worth it.
