The room is 4.4m x 4.8m with white ceilings, white enamel gloss doors/frame, anodic natural matte (matte silver) window frames. Carpet will be a darkish grey (that to my eye seems to be a touch on the warm side). I want at least one of the walls to be dark (the wall where the TV will go). Was looking at something like Dulux Domino or Wayward Grey (yet to get samples to try out). Not sure what to do with the rest of the walls though - could do them all the same colour, or maybe a half tint of the same colour as the darker wall. Furniture wise I want to go for a white coffee table and entertainment unit (something like the Mode range from Freedom Furniture). Would dearly love to get the Domino modular from Freedom with the Slate coloured fabric (http://www.freedom.com.au/furniture/sof ... s/23056121). I have a framed Fight Club movie poster that I want to stick on the wall (like this one - http://www.fotos.org/galeria/data/576/M ... t-Club.jpg) and was thinking of maybe using orange cushions to tie it in with the rest of the decor. Not sure about window treatments yet - probably will go for curtains to ensure blocking out light is easy enough. So I guess the scheme I'm looking at is greys/charcoals with white and a splash of orange for a hopefully modern look. Thoughts? Suggestions? Would love to hear opinions! New beginnings. Re: Contemplating home theatre colours 2Jun 29, 2010 8:03 pm I couldn’t find Domino, but found Wayward Grey, nice and deep and should go well with your carpet. How about doing ½ Wayward Grey for the rest of the walls? Domino can be seen in this brochure - http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/interior-colour-booklet I have a test pot and just painted a piece of cardboard to see how it comes up. I might even be tempted to do all of the walls in a 100% tint! I think with the white furniture it will be quite a striking contrast. This is the carpet we'll be getting: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ New beginnings. Wow so similar to my house - we are planning on having that Domino on all 4 walls of our theatre - its the best colour ever!! We have red as our splash of colour... but i think the orange would work well too Re: Contemplating home theatre colours 7Aug 23, 2010 1:06 pm I love Dulux namadji. Its a warm shade of black/brown/grey which will go perfectly with your carpet. I think Domino is on the cool side of shades. We are painting our thearter room Namadji with dark carpet like yours, dark grey roman blinds and dark furniture. Good luck and make sure you post pics of your room to inspire us all. It is a HiLo Loop Pile in 100% wool. I also like the dark grey paint colour I saw at Mitre10 (Accent Paints) called Earth's Shadow. I can't find a link to it, but will post pictures of what we end up using. Lee ------------------------------ http://ridgewood-home.blogspot.com/ We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds.
