Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jun 17, 2010 6:12 pm Hi Michelle As discussed in another thread we are using Wattyl Scallopini as our wall colour and hubby is having some concerns that it might be too dark for all walls. We are having white ceilings, architraves and skirting. Wet areas are Caesarstone Cracked Pepper benchtops and white vinyl wrap doors. Our floor tiles are a mottly glazed porcelain tile with similar colours to the Scallopini. The floor tiles will be used up and across the bath hob and on the floor of the ensuite shower. White tiles with a feature will be used in the showers. Basically it's a very white & beige house but we will use colour accessories to add some oomph. Do you think Scallopini is too dark for all walls? The wall on the right in kaz's photos show Scallopini. kaz101 wrote: http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/4449/bedroom001.jpg http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/8420/bedroom003.jpg http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/218/bedroom004.jpg catjim Re: Wattyl Scallopini as wall colour? 2Jun 17, 2010 6:26 pm We have it as a wall colour throughout our house with wattyl chalkdust skirtings and achitraves. I love the colour but wouldn't use it on all walls again. It shows slightest imperfection in plaster and also shows every other mark imaginable (we do have two young boys though ) I tried to upload some photos but photobucket is not coming to the party, will try again later..... Thanks Rellie. I had a look at your blog and it looks great. Not too dark and shows up well against the white trim. We've chosen Wattyl Stalactite for the trim which is a real white white......I hope. Re: Wattyl Scallopini as wall colour? 5Jun 17, 2010 9:16 pm Emohruo Hi, We had Scallopini in our old apartment for a few years and loved it. It was a very calming and cozy colour. HTH Michelle Thanks Michelle. I find it calming too. Just hope it's the same when I see it for real in my house. Re: Wattyl Scallopini as wall colour? 6Jun 18, 2010 7:04 pm Scoallopini is nice colour! Thanks Kaz101 for your photos. catjim, if you are happy with that depth of colour on the walls, then go for it, I think it’s a nice change than so many neutrals at the moment. Rellie, if your paint showed all the marks and scuffs, then I don’t think your walls were painted properly. If walls are done in a semi gloss, just about every mark comes off with out too much effort. Thanks Michelle. Will post some photos when we get that far. Don't hold your breath though as we haven't even started yet. Re: Wattyl Scallopini as wall colour? 8Jun 18, 2010 10:39 pm I love having depth of colour on the walls adds real warmth to the house, we used wattyl tennessee dawn on our wall but instead of using a white or off white on the skirting and architrave we went with a quarter strength of the wall colour it soften the lines nicely giving the same effect as white but not as dramatic. We kept with the standard ceiling white for the ceilings.
