Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jun 15, 2010 7:05 pm Hi Michelle, You gave me some advice a few months ago on our external colours - Dune roof, Woodland Grey Gutters/Facias, Dulux Barnfloor render. At the time I also asked about what you thought for Wattyl Chino for our internal paint colour and you said you would get back to me and if you forgot then asked that I remind you. Well... we now need to advise the builder on our internal paint colour. We had liked Wattyl Chino when we saw it in a display home about a year ago, but unfortunately it is no longer a display home so we can't go back for another look. I remember at the time we loved it. What's you opinion on this colour?? Do you think full strength would be ok to use or would 3/4 strength be better? We want a nice neutral colour, not too light, not too dark, that doesn't throw of a yellow or pink tinge. I have painted a sample board with full and 1/2 strength and think 1/2 if too light. Is there any other colour you would recommend? I'm not really a fan of Hogs Bristle as I think it looks a little bit yellowey. You advice would be appreciated Michelle!! Re: Internal Wall Colour - Wattyl Chino?? 2Jun 15, 2010 8:17 pm Devendiva….sorry for forgetting about you! I’ve just been through all my Wattyl paint guides and the fan deck and there is no Chino to be seen! So I can’t recommend a colour I can’t see. Everything I just looked at in the Dulux range throws a pink in the lowest paint mix. Have you looked at Dulux China White? Chino is quite an old colour I think and it is on a Solarguard chart. We are only thinking of it because we have seen it and liked it at the time. China White I think might be a bit too pale for what I had in my mind. Re: Internal Wall Colour - Wattyl Chino?? 4Jun 16, 2010 6:19 pm Found it Devendiva, I had another look and found the brochure I was looking for last night! Great colour ….Possibly a little too dark for internal as it is an external colour. Try it in ½ that should work for you. I'm thinking I will get a sample pot made up with 3/4 strength as I have tried 1/2 and thought it was too light for what I had in my mind. Will let you know what we decide. Re: Internal Wall Colour - Wattyl Chino?? 6Jun 16, 2010 6:28 pm It’s got a lot of green in it, so ¼ may make it more greener….. Get the sample pot, that’s the best way to find out. (1) never agree to any "upgrade" unless you first know… 5 6854 |
