Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jun 11, 2010 9:12 am Hi,
I've finally taken the plunge and put a deposit on building my first home. Colour Selections are due next week and i had no idea of the amount of decisions I had to make! Hoping I could get some advice on the colours I've selected for my outside and facade The house I'm building is the Montrose 36 by Carlisle Homes. The facade is the Soho (below) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I was thinking of having the garage door in a caoba timbergrain colourbond with the timber planking and front door a similar colour. Was also thinking of adding timber windows to the front but worried it will be to much wood? I'm not 100% sold on your render colour... I think it's a little too brown... if that makes sense? But that's my personal opinion. I think you've done quite well Re: Outside of my 1st home, please help! 3Jun 11, 2010 6:40 pm Looking at the smaller picks off the net I would have to say the Snuggle Pie is a little too brown also, but looking at the larger pic with all the selections together, it looks ok. What you might want to do, is take all those selections in the larger photos and look at them outside, that will show you if the Snuggle Pie is too brown. All and all you have done a nice job with your selections. Yeah snuggle pie does look quite a bit browner on the dulux website compared to the board at the Carlisle spectra centre. Any suggestions of other colours instead? My goal is to really make the timber areas the feature Re: Outside of my 1st home, please help! 5Jun 11, 2010 6:51 pm To make the timber stand out, maybe stick to more grey tones? Re: Outside of my 1st home, please help! 6Jun 11, 2010 6:52 pm Or even lighter sandy coloured shades... Re: Outside of my 1st home, please help! 7Jun 11, 2010 6:54 pm I'd look a little closer at the Jasper for your render Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Outside of my 1st home, please help! 9Jun 14, 2010 6:39 am I love your colours as well... although I'm also pretty biased as I'm building a Carlisle house with very similar colour scheme. I went for a lighter greyish brown for my render called Toffee Fingers Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ They haven't finished painting the render - but this is what it looks like on the garage lintel with Mocha and Jasper Re: Outside of my 1st home, please help! 10Jun 14, 2010 10:59 am Wow, I like the Toffee Fingers, and yes i think the Jasper or a greyer tone would look good as well. Will definitely re-think the snuggle pie if it looks too brown outside when i trial it back at spectra. What are your thoughts on timber windows with the above combination? will it be too much "wood"? Re: Outside of my 1st home, please help! 11Jun 14, 2010 12:05 pm I knew i took some additional photos! This is what the snuggle pie render would really look like, much better than the sample picture above http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad80/tkringle/FacadeRender-DuluxSnugglePie.jpg Oh, and here is a photo of the doors I will be getting (will be double doors), will this stain match the coaba garage doors? http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad80/tkringle/RClear.jpg Re: Outside of my 1st home, please help! 12Jun 14, 2010 8:14 pm Love that front door! The Snuggle Pie looks much better in that photo! BUT, its what it looks like externally that counts. I'm unsure of what colour to have around the island bench and wine rack? i've been thinking something like a Expresso Ligna, Burnished Wood or Liquorice Linea? (i'm leaning towards the Burnished wood but not sure if its too dark..)
