Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 15, 2011 10:34 am I need your help because I am hopeless at making decisions. I can't decide if the feature wall in my lounge should be behind the couch or behind the tv or what colour the feature wall should be. However, I have narrowed it down. So please vote on my poll. Just Erin I hope that you don't mind that I copied some of the images that you provided. I personally like the green better than the brown. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. Re: Feature wall help please 5Jan 16, 2011 6:18 am This is the first time I have said this, but with your visual I’m going to have to say Deep Reed….(I nearly used that colour in my house, love it!) behind the TV. Normally I don’t like to see a feature wall on walls with lots going on. But the black TV and unit looks great with the Deep Reed. This colour seems to look the best with your current furniture and colour scheme throughout your house. If you particularly want to use accents of green, why not use in cushions, pictures etc. Just my opinion. btw, your house looks lovely. Rest assured that whatever you do pick will look nice. I agree with what people are saying about having the feature wall on the wall behind the tv- but I'm wondering whether the wall behind the couch might actually be better because it is the wall you see when you are coming down the hallway. It is hard to tell when you're not standing inside the actual space. We have painted one of my boy's walls in domain- Given that I have used it myself- I really love the colour. On my computer monitor it looks lighter then I find it in real life (but that is probably the fault of my computer monitor) Based on what I see on the computer screen I am leaning more towards Deep Reed Re: Feature wall help please 14Jan 17, 2011 12:56 pm just Erin I'm still torn between options B & C... but voted C... ! Of you course you can use the pics It's your house I am the same! I went with the walnut hull. Then you can buy lots of cushions in the green colour for the couch. Thank for your vote! I'm worried that if I did that.. the green cushions would stand out and look out of place because there is nothing else green in there? Mind you i'm not the best at this interior decortaing thing so maybe it would look aweome Michelle This is the first time I have said this, but with your visual I’m going to have to say Deep Reed….(I nearly used that colour in my house, love it!) behind the TV. Normally I don’t like to see a feature wall on walls with lots going on. But the black TV and unit looks great with the Deep Reed. Thanks Michelle. I did originally think that behind the couch was the way to go.. because you could see it from the entry and there wasn't much going on there.. but it seems i've been very much outvoted ... and now i'm definately leaning towards behind the tv. I showed my DP the pictures this morning.. and he pointed out that because the couch continues around the corner... it looks odd when the colour on the wall finishes but the couch continues. Do you agree and think that is one of the resons why the wall behind the couch doesn't work as a feature wall? http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad198/miss_new_home_owner/deepreedcouch-1.png Our new house - moved in but so much more to do! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31696&p=442009#p442009 Re: Feature wall help please 15Jan 17, 2011 1:07 pm You could always paint around the window aswell... It will highlight the windowframe. Re: Feature wall help please 16Jan 17, 2011 2:06 pm that would be my reason, i think if the lounge wasnt' continuing around the corner i'd go the couch wall. Thanks Walnut Hull is definately a favourite tinkster I love that green behind the tv, looks gorgeous! Thanks pattycake4 I like feature wall behind tv, I would select Domain as I like the lighter colours. I heard somewhere ..[ I can't remember exactly where.. some tv renovating/ building show??] ... that you should put darker colours behind tvs rather than lighter colours to make the tv viewing better. I have no idea how true this i.. since we have light walls behind the tv now and it looks fine to me... but thats why I didn't put Domain as an option behind the tv. flagstaffIV I have to go with the Deep Reed Hun...
