Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 15, 2010 11:03 am Hi all, Some people will HATE this house, but personally i love it and i think with the right garden it could be gorgeous. I am thinking of rendering most of the front of my house after handover and want a colour like this. The front pillar will prob be in stackstone though to break it up slightly. So do you think that this is Ironstone? I apologise for the quality of the picture, it was a driveby lol. V Re: Is this Ironstone Render? and what do you think? 2May 15, 2010 2:28 pm I don't know what colour it is, but I quite like it. With the stackstone to break it up, it would look even better. Re: Is this Ironstone Render? and what do you think? 3May 15, 2010 3:54 pm Could be....too hard to tell with the lighting. Ironstone changes cololur quite a lot, depending on the light - sometimes it's quite blue, other times it's very grey. What colour are your spouting and fascias, window frames, front door? I'm far too lazy to go track down your previous posts to check. I think it needs a light contrast - stackstone would be great, but perhaps something else as well.... This definitely is Ironstone render - Early evening, long exposure, no flash: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Overcast day: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ In shadow, but bright sunshine all around: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I have a trillion other photos at different times of day and in different weather conditions, and there are dozens of colour variations. All of them very nice. Re: Is this Ironstone Render? and what do you think? 4May 15, 2010 3:55 pm Looks like it may be, hard to tell though. Our front walls are ironstone (the light ones are Dune). We love it- not quite grey, not quite blue. Gets very hot though. Although, ours are on the front of the house which faces west. Here are some pics of ours for you to compare. Re: Is this Ironstone Render? and what do you think? 7Jun 02, 2010 1:33 pm You should defineitly use ironstone render. We are too....to our front parapet entrance with the rest being a white render and ironstone roof. Its such a great contrast....and I love the sharp lines it gives. If you go on www.colorbond.com website there is an application that lets you put all those colours on the roof and render to see how it will look.
