We had the other curtains in our house professionally made and we just need to do the bedroom but I'd like to go with a different company. So is there anywhere I can see other companies in Brisbane and people would recommend for curtaining. TIA Susan How wide should a curtain track be? 217Jan 23, 2012 10:20 am I can't seen to find any information or guidelines on this one so I'm asking here if anyone knows the answer to this question. We have two curtains in the family room - the track for the curtain on the sliding door extends about 750mm past the window and the curtains (inverted pleats on an Evo track) look great when drawn back as the whole sliding door can be seen, the track for the window on the other hand only has about 200mm on each side and it looks too small - we are not sure how wide we should go - if we go 750mm each side of the window the curtain will cover most of the wall which may or may not be a bad thing. Does anyone know how much room should be allowed for curtains to be pulled back properly? We've asked the curtain lady to come and see us again so we can work it out as we are not happy with how it is now ... but I wanted to know if there were any guidelines before we meet with her..... Re: Ask your “Curtain Questions Here” 219Jan 23, 2012 12:22 pm Yes that's the problem - I haven't got a photo to show but the track just looks too "skimpy" when the curtains are open and the curtain lady thought we wanted to extend on the left side only to meet the other curtain but that would look dreadful ... I guess we just have to make our minds up as to how far the track should extend. Re: Ask your “Curtain Questions Here” 220Jan 23, 2012 1:38 pm Hi Mclaren, maybe open drapes, see how much you want drape off each side (measure the bunched up drape)l asume you know that should tell you how far to extend track.Do you want it off the glass or off frame as well.
