Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 14, 2010 1:59 pm Hello, ok this may be a weird question. Do you think it is ok to have a house which is mostly an off white/creamy colour (walls, kitchen, bedrooms walls etc) and use an actual white in the bathrooms? I have to update our bathrooms and my preference would be white walls and charcoal floors but not sure if this will clash, or if it doesn't matter with bathrooms vs the rest of the house? thanks.. Re: Whole house colour scheme - beige + white 2May 14, 2010 3:13 pm I think that it should be fine-the bathroom isn't constantly on view is it? Are your skirtings and architraves white? I wouldn't go almond ivory for those....there are just to many variables between the different companies colours. Regardless, cream & white is a classic french provincial look. Re: Whole house colour scheme - beige + white 4May 14, 2010 6:53 pm skirtings are wood coloured (stained) - architraves and ceiling is white but a few years ago I painted the whole house an off white - it has a yellow tinge to it, and have upgraded our WIR doors to a cream colour. Will be re-doing our kitchen too, not sure of the colour yet but I think white would look odd unfortunately (as it would be my first choice as this is for doing up for re-sale). In a perfect world I wouldve had better long term vision and painted everything just a white white, but I didn't! The bathroom isn't constantly on view but it is a small house. Definitely the bath and basin etc will be white but was more thinking about the overall colour scheme ie; wall and floor tiles I guess. Re: Whole house colour scheme - beige + white 5May 14, 2010 8:22 pm I regularly do all wet areas in white for the same reason you have mentioned. No complaints yet…….
