Hi all,
I'm probably getting ahead of myself here (I'm not even at lock up yet), but I'm starting to think about window coverings.
I'm tossing up between timber blinds (which I've had before and really like) and roller blinds. I'm thinking a light coloured roller blind would make the rooms feel bigger (after all, I'm in a very small house).
I have a couple of bedrooms that have 3 vertical awning/sliding windows (including the one I'm going to use as a study that faces onto the street) and one other bedroom for my daughter.
In the main living area I have a 3-panel-sliding-door-window-setup from the family room to the alfresco, a large sliding window in the dining room and a small above-countertop window near the kitchen.
I probably wouldn't put anything in the bathroom, toilet or laundry, but maybe a roller blind in my ensuite just to block out the light at night.
(you can see what I mean from the floor plan on page 1 of my thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=23860&start=0)
I'm looking for some way of deciding which blinds to use where. I was thinking maybe timber blinds in the study and my room, and roller blinds everywhere else..??? I'm not sure how either of these blinds would hold up in terms of keeping the heat in/out of the house too.
I'm also trying to figure out if I would need something in addition to the roller blinds, like a curtain in front or something?? Or perhaps getting the dual blinds where one is see through and the other is a blockout one??
My frame should be up soon, so I'm going to go in and take window measurements and keep my eye open for sales and specials before I move... so I just need to figure out what I'm going to go with.
Help - where do I start??
P.
