Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 07, 2010 8:27 pm After much agonising over our colour selections a few weeks ago which included vinyl floors (love them, but people have too many different opinions on them) we decided to re-select our colours and go for the "safe" option with tiles. So here we go.... 300 x 600 calm grey rect porc tile which I will have laid in a brick pattern throughout the house with carpet in bedrooms, kids play and rumpus (carpet same colour but plain SDN twist pile) Ceasarstone nougat benchtops in kitchen and Polytec classic white gloss vinyl wrap cupboards Formica Deep anthricate (on back of island) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Splashback will be dulux teahouse All bathroom and laundry will be classic white gloss with Laminex squareform in Basalt and we will use the same tile as above on bathroom floors up and over bath hob and back wall in ensuite with 200 x 400 gloss white tile also in shower and behind vanities. Inside the nices I am having a grey/white glass Brick tile And walls will be Dulux grey pebble full strength with half strength trims. Is this better?? Suh- I can't find teahouse on the internet but the only way I can describe it is that it is a blue/grey colour in between my Laminate colours deep anthricate and basalt. Do you have a thread with pics of your house? I would love to see it!! Other thing I am considering after seeing a house yesterday with my exact same tiles (but in charcoal) is doing the splash in the matching tile with grouted lines; ie; ends up looking like a heap of 300 x 50mm tiles on the splash. It did look great in this ladies house. Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Re-done my colours..... and I am HAPPY!! What do you thi 6May 09, 2010 9:47 am shellb78 Thanks guys!!!! Re: Re-done my colours..... and I am HAPPY!! What do you thi 8May 09, 2010 6:12 pm Your colours are great!! We are using that same large tile in the bathrooms as well. I have a pic in my thread of it used in a display in the beaumonts show room. We are also using the darker charcoal colour in the bathrooms to, and the darker colour is also on the possibility list for tiling the remainder of the house. I saw the charcoal tile laid throughout a whole house yesterday and it looks AWESOME! Almost made me change my colour! M!ssy Your colours are fantastic! I love your carpet choice!! Thanks Missy! I do love the carpet too!! DH doesn't like patterned colours though so we are just going plain twist pile in the same colour which I think will still look great (and it is cheaper which is a bonus!) As I have said- I am happy with my choices and it all flows so well, but........ I can't get it out of my head that I should maybe go for a lighter benchtops in the bathrooms My bathrooms will be vinyl wrap gloss classic white currently with laminex basalt in squareform.... We are having the grey tile on the floor and up and over the bath-hob and a little way up the walls. In the ensuite this tile will also be on the back shower wall with white tiles on the sides. We are also having the white gloss tile behind the vanity under the mirrors. Do you think it would be ok to have lighter vanity tops? This is what I am thinking... Laminex Pure Mineralstone Diamondgloss (will this look tacky- as though I am trying to match the c/stone nougat in kitchen?) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ or White Valencia Diamondgloss or Laminex Cotton craft (natural finish) Help please...... should I stick with the darker Basalt (which matches the floor tile colour almost exactly) or go for a lighter top???? Thanks guys!!!! I promise once this decision is made I will stop thinking about it and lock it in !!!!!!!! What do you thi 12May 09, 2010 10:39 pm I like the basalt-I hade black faux marble floor tiles in our last house and used white cupboards with a black (I think it was someting Star) laminex countertop-looked great! In fact friends who are building now have copied the colour scheme from our last house (we are having neutrals this time...) One more question please!!!!! 20May 10, 2010 8:14 pm Michelle I like a top to match floor tiles. Especially if you are having white wall tiles. Are the white wall tiles more than the dark wall tiles in quantity? Depends- bathroom has grey on floor and up and over bath hob, white in shower and between vanity and mirror. ensuite has grey on floor and one wall in shower (but shower is not next to vanity) white is on other two shower walls and between vanity and mirror. There are minimal "wall tiles" as such, only standard! Wish I could afford to have all the walls tiled but we will have to stick with plain old painted walls Here is floor plan so you can picture the rooms.....
