Realise that you wouldn't have had a chance to look at everything yet.... I just had another look at all the colours & think that the pebble cove would get lost on peruvian clay cupboards - too similar?? Anyway, I'll leave it to you to weave your magic now Jo Re: INTERNAL PAINT – FLOW COLOURS 25Nov 26, 2007 7:01 pm Jo, I have pulled all your colours out, Lets see if get this right.
The Peruvian Clay is a great colour match with your Pebble Cove and Moleskin, so I would differently use Peruvian Clay for the sides and front of the benches, as well as the kicks. just had another look at all the colours & think that the pebble cove would get lost on peruvian clay cupboards - too similar?? No….. You want an overall look, colours that will compliment each other, that’s why staying with colours that are the similar in tone will work best for you. I don’t think it looses the Pebble Cove at all, I think the Peruvian Clay complements the benchtops. On a whole there is more Moleskin than Peruvian Clay. We could look at a dark chocolate, but ask mek about dark colours, they are just about as bad as too light a colour. Everything shows. The Peruvian Clay is an in between colour to the dark and light, much better choice. While looking at your plan of the kitchen I think it will be best to have a darker colour in some places. You have a lot of cupboards. The Peruvian Clay will help to break all the Moleskin up. After putting all your colours together again, I would tend to go with the plain glass as your splashbacks. The Peruvian Clay will be too dark, that would not be my choice as a colour here. So either stay with the China White or use the glass with the slight tint of green in it. It’s a more natural look with the glass. In fact that’s the way I think you should go. By using the Peruvian Clay, we now have a different look. To keep your kitchen modern, natural glass is the way to go. You will never run out of cupboard space in your kitchen!!! If you do, there will be something wrong!!!! Sorry if this post seems a little disjointed….. my phone has NOT stopped, and my head is thumping from a painter cancelling on a job that I really needed him on!!! Let me know if I have forgotten anything. I’m very confident your colours will look great, especially now throwing into the mix the timber floor!!! Very nice! I can see what you mean about the Peruvian Clay - picks up the some of the colour of the flecks in the Pebble Cove & is still darker than the base colour of the benchtop. Do you think I should just leave the Peruvian Clay in the island - or change some of the draws or cupboards to this colour as well (or once again is that something that will date quickly)? I think I like the idea of the natural glass. You will never run out of cupboard space in your kitchen!!! If you do, there will be something wrong!!!! I have got so much cupboard space throughout the whole house I have got no idea what I'm going to put in it all! I'm also worried I'll turn into a hoarder - I can just keep putting things in cupboards instead of chucking out! I'm also thinking I'll use Peruvian Clay for linen press cupboards, otherwise I'll stick with moleskin. Once again you've put my mind at rest Jo Re: INTERNAL PAINT – FLOW COLOURS 27Nov 26, 2007 7:59 pm Do you think I should just leave the Peruvian Clay in the island - or change some of the draws or cupboards to this colour as well (or once again is that something that will date quickly)?
Yes keep it as the feature to the room. I looked at the cupboards, and thought about changing some of them, but I like the way I have gone better! Linen cupboards????? Will need to be painted????? Do them the wall colour, the only time we like to change colour is if we want something to stand out. Linen cupboards……we don’t want to stand out! I think cabinet maker will be using laminex doors on our linen & storage cupboards, but I'll need to check. Will stick with the moleskin or china white if painted. Peruvian Clay for the sides and front of the benches, as well as the kicks. Should I only use the Peruvian Clay for the kicks in the island bench or for the rest of the kitchen as well? Sorry, you can tell I'm not very good at this! Jo Re: INTERNAL PAINT – FLOW COLOURS 29Nov 26, 2007 8:22 pm All kicks though out the kitchen will need to be the same! I can't wait to see your suggestions. We are about to start looking at internal paints in Taubmans. Re: INTERNAL PAINT – FLOW COLOURS 34Apr 22, 2008 5:10 pm Bernadette…..I’ll try and remember to do Taubmans.
I’ve got a bit of work on tonight. Taubmans were out of books when I was there last week. So I don’t have a lot to go off, what’s on my fan deck is a bit ordinary. You will now find all suitable flow colours in this post and the locked one I have at the top of my forum. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: INTERNAL PAINT – FLOW COLOURS 37Apr 24, 2008 10:16 pm Hi Michelle,
