I was looking at the photo of the turkish bread thinking that it is very much like the colour we chose for our house (Bristol Sandlight). Sometimes I look at it and think that it's too dark, and others I think that it's perfect... I just hope our colour looks as good in the home as I'm imagining.
P.S great comment Ash. Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: Internal walls colour 22Nov 12, 2007 9:43 pm First_Timer_Ray Phew. We are in our house and I still have days like that. For most of our house we chose Wattyl's White Pepper. Some days (or mornings) I love it and congratulate myself on a great choice. Other days (or afteroons) I think it is too dark or too brown or too something else. It does seem to change with the light due to the season or time of day. At least I am happy sometimes! Re: Internal walls colour 23Jan 20, 2008 12:14 pm We went with half strength Wattyl Turkish Bread. At first it looked slightly green because the paint supplier had mixed it with the wrong base (full strength Turkish Bread has the light tinted base, but half strength needs a dark tinted base)
The painters weren't getting proper coverage, and could still see their cutting in ... so they investigated and we now have a fourth coat of paint http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff151/melbournelyn/IMG_7852_400.jpg We used Wattyl Divinity on our ceilings, skirts & architraves. The paint does all look lighter in real life. http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff151/melbournelyn/IMG_7791_500.jpg With Wattyl Murano on right (much lighter and brighter than shown here) and Wattyl Liberte at the end of the hallway (pretty much what it really looks like). http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff151/melbournelyn/IMG_7837_600.jpg Re: Internal walls colour 24Jan 20, 2008 1:59 pm your pics look awesome, congrats!

Who knows?! I'm not sure if it should have been a white base instead (my better half isn't good with passing on colour details!) but it apparently took the paint rep and the painters a while to work out why it wasn't covering properly. I had seen the green-tinged paint and didn't actually mind it that much - suited some of our tiles better than the correct version! We just thought they needed to do another coat. Thanks. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5412 Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7944 3 10214 |
