Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 27, 2009 9:05 pm Hi there I need some suggestions in regards to a nice white that goes with the brown/taupe tonings and one that doesn't look cream. I do love Antique White USA but it's too cream for me, I really want a white. In saying that i'd originally selected Dulux White on White but i've since learnt that it has blue under tones which wouldn't suit our house. Here are some of my colour selections so far to give you an idea of what i'm matching too. Were they any help? I've also seen pictures of Natural White which looks lovely, I'm not sure if that's a Dulux colour though. The good thing about paint is that its not hard or too expensive to paint over if you get that selection wrong. You're going to have to re-paint in a few years anyway, so it's not the worst decision you could make! We just had carpet done today which has made a difference and I'm back to liking my White on White... (not loving it, just liking it!) Re: Internal wall selection, help please 3May 28, 2009 10:09 am Thanks JL yeah the guy at the Dulux store sent me home with lots of creams that were either too yellow or too pink and we really do want white so we're back to square one again Re: Internal wall selection, help please 4May 28, 2009 10:13 am I'll get you one later tonight...... That way you'll have a better idea on what i'm doing. Unfortunately taking a photo of my tile like that doesn't give a true indication of it's colour. It actually has more of a green toning to it if that makes sense. It's more like Laminex Stipple Hemp only a shade darker. The outside render will be Dulux Self Destruct and our roof will be Colorbond Surfmist. Our garage door will be a timber grain look but i'm not too sure yet which one. Our fronts doors and portico timber feature will be stained to match the garage door. These are some of the feature walls we're thinking of using. Of course I'm still not 100% on the exact colour but it will give you an idea. I'm petrified of cream Re: Internal wall selection, help please 9May 30, 2009 8:09 am I have similar colours in my place that you have selected and have White on White and think it works perfectly. Blue undertones gives it a crisp fresh white look, but it does not look blue on my walls. Custom build! I'd be interested in what you think. Do you have any photos of your place you'd be willing to share ? I'd love to see the walls Casa2 - Sheer Bliss is way too pink unfortunately I'm assuming you're talking about Dulux Sheer Bliss ? Re: Internal wall selection, help please 15May 30, 2009 1:00 pm I might not be of any help as I dont really seem to see the undertones of colours in white. To me, alot of the whites all look really white, just some seem whiter than others. But we are using Lexicon on our ceiling and I think that's really white. Have a look and let me know what you think? Maybe there is another undertone colour in there which I didnt see Idiots are fun, that's why there is one in every village! - Dr. House - Re: Internal wall selection, help please 16May 30, 2009 1:55 pm off topic but speaking of internal paint colours...i just went out to my block to check out progress made in the estate, and discovered a new coral home being built that i hadn't noticed before...couldn't help myself - i had to have a sticky beak - the whole house is painted GREEN sort of avacado green, a bit of a shock when i realised, but, surprisingly it actually looks really good...who would have thought the kitchen in this house is chocolate with a cream diamond gloss benctop, but the whole thing ties in really well together...weird 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Internal wall selection, help please 17May 30, 2009 6:35 pm -Rebekah- Missy - Oh really thanks for that. How funny, after looking at Missy's pictures, I'd pick white on white again in a heart beat. BUT, come 3/4pm and I look at my walls and you would swear black and 'blue' that they are a pale baby blue. I'm actually looking forward to a bit of wear and tear on them so I can justify repainting them! Go figure. DH really likes it though, he can't see the blue that I see. (Colour blind maybe ) I just cleaned out our rental today and noticed on the excess paint tins in the cupboard that the ceiling was done in vivid white which is a really clean white.
