Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 18, 2007 6:24 pm Hi there
Hoping someone may be on the same wave length as me!!! Our new house has a predominately beige/mocha/brown colour scheme....the main wall colour throughout is Taubmans Beige Chalk (T122-3) which is a really nice neutral beige selected by our colour consultant She has picked a nice chocolate for the feature wall in the main bedroom (Taubmans Big Wig), however for the entry & games room which is part of the main living area has suggested a really dark feature wall colour (either Taubmans Caffeinated or Birch Bark)...which I'm not too sure about I really like the idea of bringing in a nice blue or teal colour instead...I have noticed in a lot of display homes wih predominately brown colour schemes that a soft bluey/teal colour has been used as a feature but have no idea what colour it looks like on a colour chart? What do people think? Do blue & brown go together or am I asking for trouble!! Any recommendations for a colour? The area will have kempas floor boards, window treatments will be something simple and light (probably off white venetians). The kitchen is a chocolate stone bench top with off white cupboards (Laminex Moleskin) and some feature laminate in Laminex Fossil Any suggestions appreciated? Thanks Nat Re: Blue Feature Wall with Chocolate Colour Scheme?? 2Sep 18, 2007 7:19 pm Nat….Sounds like your colour consultant has done well!
I like both….the light blue and chocolate or a deep blue and chocolate, quite classy colours. The best way to make your decision is to look at what you are going to use for your furnishings, will they look better with a light blue or a deep blue. I know I have said this over and over BUT its very important, get sample pots of the blues and chocolate, paint them up on one board next to each other with the chocolate in the centre….this way you will see which one you like best. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Blue Feature Wall with Chocolate Colour Scheme?? 3Sep 18, 2007 7:49 pm Thanks for the input Michelle!
Sorry my first post was a a bit confusing...the feature walls the colour consultant suggested aren't blue...they are dark browns & greys but I was wondering whether a blue wall would work instead which as you say would defintely work! So now I just have to find the right blue colour..I am quite like something along the lines of Taubmans Lidwina or Blue Torrent....I'll have to dig up the Dulux charts and have a look at those. Thanks again Re: Blue Feature Wall with Chocolate Colour Scheme?? 4Sep 18, 2007 7:53 pm Yeah…. Perthgirl, I would be hesitant about the grey!! ![]() Sorry I read that wrong. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Our house was built in 2008 It has birch white windows has rendered walls.
