Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 14, 2010 12:40 am For all you budding painters - Michelle I hope you are able to help here too please!! My builder is going to ask me shortly what paint colours I want for house! Here is my question: It is a holiday house, no furniture purchased yet (hope to add colour in accessories). Bathrooms/laundry/kitchen tiles and benchtops are all neutral colours. I was thinking hog bristle perhaps in laundry and kitchen, and probably similar for bathrooms. Pretty safe to do this?? Although its pretty bland I thought to do something very neutral for bedrooms too, again because I haven't yet got furniture or bedding! Because we are close to the beach I'm thinking of trying to add blues/greens/aqua/turquoise to the rooms by way of bedding and accessories. Are there any particular neutral colours which would be best to compliment these colours? Ceilings are white, doors white, window frames white. Many thanks. Re: Internal Paint Colours - help needed please 2Apr 14, 2010 7:06 am SharonC….although now one of Australia’s most used paint colour, (one I’ve been using for years now!) Hog is perfect for a neutral colour scheme. I would put it right through the house, including the bathroom and laundry, one colour throughout. Hog will complement all your chosen feature colours. I'll probably do 1/2 strength hog bristle on the south side of house where it is darker. I'll check out the other rooms before deciding strength in there. Appreciate your help, what a great forum! Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7079 Thanks. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5369 Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7862 |
