Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 13, 2010 10:16 pm Hi all So originally we planned on painting our apartment in natural white with vivid white skirting and flat white ceilings, we are also putting down cherry laminate flooring which has quite and orangish tone. The furniture is mainly a dark rosewood (large bookshelf, sideboard, dining table etc.) which may or may not be repainted white - we cant decide on this either !!. We are now looking at couches and curtains and are rethinking the natural white. My mother does not want a light/neutral couch. She thinks it isnt "livable". She feels pretty strongly about it so I have to come up with a compromise . We are recovering our old couch (a classic looking Moran) because we love it, it is still comfortable and it has a lot of meaning for our family - so we can cover it in any colour we want. However every photo of white walled rooms I have seen has a neutral white/beige/champagne couch. We are going to Warwick to look at material but in the meantime we have decided (maybe) on an aubergine/eggplant colour (see below for ideas). I am therefore thinking of getting neutral curtains (like in the photo). Do you think we should change the colour of the wall from natural white to something like Berkshire White, Napkin white or Raw cotton (I have only seen these paints via the Dulux website so Im only guessing)? However if you have a chance to look at it can you please tell me what version of the neutral dulux paints best match the armchair in the photo below. It seems to be a light linen/sand type of colour. Neither brown, nor tan or cream. I engaged my builder in December last year and we’ve been working on preliminary drawings for last couple of months. I got a call from the salesperson this morning… 0 616 have you used any of the motorised curtain systems available from Ebay? Which one and how is it? 0 2440 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7213 |
