What design and colour elements should I incorporate in my ensuite. I will have a free standing bath then a double vanity approx. 3 metres long with a walk in shower behind (1.6x 0.9) on one side and a toilet on the other. The vanity will be visible from the bedroom. The size of the ensuite is 5.2 X3.5. Please help me out I have no idea where to start. Lets keep it in neutral in latte/coffee colours. I have the budget for marble/trav floor and wall tiles if need be. To get this look, you need great storage to keep the usual bathroom paraphernalia off the counters. An 'appliance' cupboard/drawer with built in power points, a shallow cupboard behind/next to the mirror for smaller items (eg makeup and toiletries). Especially crucial since you can see the vanity from the bedroom. Mood lighting - not just overhead lighting, I like wall sconces. Do you have any scope to build a small enclosed garden courtyard outside the window? Re: spa quality bathroom. 6Apr 14, 2010 10:42 am No scope for a courtyard, the ensuite is on the first floor. The shower is behind the vanity wall, the ceiling is 2.7m, this will make the shower feel very enclosed. Perhaps the wall of the vanity should not go all the way to the ceiling but 3/4 up. Can anyone foresee problems with that? Should I include timber, pebbles, marble? Re: spa quality bathroom. 7Apr 14, 2010 12:16 pm This was fun….wish I was doing a spa room!!! I’m busy for the next couple of days….. I will try to get the plan of my bathroom up for other opinions because the size of the bathroom has just increased and I could do a different layout. Re: spa quality bathroom. 12May 29, 2010 11:25 pm Colour choice is important, soothing latte, pale stone, natural woods, to go with the white porcelein. The tavertine tiles are beautifull, but you may want to check weather your budget has allowed enough for the spa style showers, minimalist taps, good lighting. I am doing my bathroom and the walk in tile shower enclosure, the german bath and the underfloor heating ate the budget up. I started with the vanity and tile colour and the rest came together very easily.
