Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 10, 2010 3:46 pm Am wondering what render to use with a colorbond dune roof? We have a skillion roof so quite visible. Front facade has Brick on one wall (thinking pgh cassica or austral symmetry earth) and also as feature around garage. Second wall is colorbond cladding and i was thinking surfmist but open to suggestion. Cladding also to be used beneath roof. Not sure if i want 1 or 2 render colours? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thought this building process would be so much fun but so far just stressful....and i haven't even got inside yet!! Hey we are doing a dune roof as well and have chosen dulux linseed as the main render colour with dulux winnow for the upstairs feature and dulux harold for around the garage feature... so earthy kind of mix... i would do cladding in shale grey if you are having aluminium windows as surfmist is very light hope that helps?! Have also played with that very scheme from colorbond and love it. Might get a sample of blind date or puppy tomorrow. Today i went down to dulux and got sample pots for Dreyfus, Mud Puddle and Kombu. Have been researching your advised colours for others and do think you are rather clever!! Would only use one of those lighter shades of course and maybe Kombu if we decided on 2 render colours. Loved all of them but will have to check it out against brick tomorrow?? Any comments or ideas for colorbond cladding colour Michelle? Still undecided. Thank you I actually think you should pick the render colour first, and then choose the C/B cladding to go with that. Let me know your final colour choice and I’ll have a look for you. House is quite large and split level sloping down from street. We were thinking dune for garage? Re: Dune roof but what render?? 10Apr 14, 2010 8:19 am Nice colour scheme! Very happy with this one also. 2 in a row, you guys on the forum are getting good with your colour selections. Any suggestions? The only thing i can come up with is surfmist or maybe even shale grey?? Don't think we can go dark because of brick at front- probably pgh Cassica or austral symmetry Earth. Hey sim301 - love your colours... just wondering what colour windows you are having?? Michelle - if you have APO Grey windows do u think having dune facsia & gutters will be ok... or should they be matching the windows (i.e shale grey)?? Re: Dune roof but what render?? 13Apr 15, 2010 8:45 am That would be the next million dollar question??? My partner/builder thinks that we will use dune for windows, gutters and facia. But I wonder what white/surfmist might be like especially if that becomes our cladding colour and likewise with shale grey. Gee I would be thinking more on the lines of Dune….already on the front of your home there are 2 colours, you need to be carful not to have too many? Or would it look fantastic all being the same or similar colour? I have no insight or idea!! Please help me one more time then i promise to leave you alone. Thanks, Sim Re: Dune roof but what render?? 17Apr 17, 2010 5:39 pm Even the colours look bad on my laptop. I’m thinking Dune….Surfmist will be ok, but a lot lighter than all the other colours.
