Hi Michelle / All
I desperately need some help in choosing white paint colours for our internal walls, ceilings, deck ceiling and eaves please!
Bit of background info - we are having spotted gum flooring throughout with charcoal and bright white colours in wet areas and in the kitchen. Externally we have a combination of colorbond windspray, surfmist and dulux boccia walls, with zincalume roof and windspray gutters and fascia, with ultra silver gloss window frames (we very much like the industrial-costal look and have gone with lots of blues, greys and whites as a result ) P.S. Would love some feedback on our external colour scheme while I'm here
As we like these blues and greys we are leaning towards 'bright whites' internally, and are considering either Lexicon Half, White on White or Whisper White for the Walls/Skirtings/Architraves, and Lexicon Quarter, Lexicon Half or White on White for the Cornices/Ceilings/Eaves. I know these colours are all quite cool though, and am worried that they may show an undertone of blue, green or grey and am not sure which combination would be best or which to choose - any ideas would be appreciated! Our house has a lot of glass and will let a lot of sunlight in, but the windows all have solar block on them.
On the flip side, we also don't want to choose something so cold that will clash against the spotted gum flooring so we are also considering going slightly warmer on the walls (eg Natural White on the Walls/Skirtings/Architraves, and Lexicon Half for the Cornices/Ceilings/Eaves but am concerned this may a) clash, and b) that Natural White will look too warm against the charcoal and bright white wet areas and kitchen colours, and c) that it may have a yellow tinge in it.
So in summary want to go brighter to go with the bright whites and dark greys inside and blues and greys outside, but don't want to go so bright that it will clash with the spotted gum flooring or blind us from the amount of sunlight that enters the house (windows have solar block though)... plus don't want any blue/grey/green/yellow tinges... you can see my predicament!
I have painted metre x metre size boards with all these whites and still can decide and we have to finish choosing our colours by early next week at the latest! Any help/advice/pics would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Melinda
